19-year-old LaVena Johnson, a US Army Private First Class, was found dead in her tent while stationed in Iraq in 2005. Her death was officially ruled a suicide. She had a broken nose, a black eye, loose teeth, burns from a corrosive chemical on her genital area, and a gunshot wound that many people felt did not fit suicide.
