The best way to do this is by being present on May 18th. Hassan has distorted the history of Hawiye and disrupted the traditional respect among Dir, Isaaq, and Hawiye. Whatever his level of education or English fluency, it does not mean he lacks political ambition or leadership potential. I would therefore encourage you and others in the Minnesota Somali community to meet with him, discuss ideas, and support him in strategizing and campaigning. I say this because not everyone has the ambition to pursue such high political offices, especially as an immigrant, Muslim, Black, Somali. This person is in some way instrumental to the Somali community and to Minnesota more broadly, because there is an energy that drives him. It would be wise to make use of that energy. If you believe there are others who may be better, as you suggest, then why not come forward and run yourselves? I think he has opened a door for you and other first-generation Somali Americans, showing that you can aim for the highest offices, even the presidency

Despite three decades of conflict and instability, Somalia’s debt levels remain among the lowest on the continent, and they are unlikely to rise dramatically as Somalia begins developing its natural resources such as oil, gas, and other valuable resources the country is blessed with. The future ahead of Somalia is extremely bright. All we need is good leadership to accelerate the prosperity and progress that Somalia already has every ingredient to achieve.

The major issue is the lack of stability in the fertile central regions due to war and that's where all the food insecurity is.
