@FrankTheTruTank That is largely the difference between "liberal market" economies and "coordinated" economies (eg USA vs Sweden). Both strategies are clearly economically valid given the high percentile GDP per capita in both nations but have vastly different outcomes in terms of inequality.

@FrankTheTruTank I think the intention is less to increase tax revenues but to cause wage compression such that the differential between the highest and lowest paid workers in society is reduced.

That said, I think Bitcoin is a plan B here. Society would be much better off if large banks - and especially Visa and MasterCard - we're prohibited from refusing to accept new clients, or cutting off existing clients, without a court order confirming illegality of the business.
