GPT-4o would not have happened without the vision, talent, conviction, and determination of @prafdhar over a long period of time. that (along with the work of many others) led to what i hope will turn out to be a revolution in how we use computers.

GPT-4o (o for “omni”) is the first model to come out of the omni team, OpenAI’s first natively fully multimodal model. This launch was a huge org-wide effort, but I’d like to give a shout out to a few of my awesome team members who made this magical model even possible!

.@sapphiReGG Can you share the screenshots you have of teams in gamesurge? Anyone else have IRC screen shots?
sapphiRe@sapphiReGG
@GBJamesCSGO I still have screenshots of having @ in #Team3D starting in '04. You could say it was a pretty big deal.

I've been unintentionally MIA trying to figure out what is next for me & I just wanted to share that I have retired my competitive gaming career. Although this was very difficult for me, I've found serenity in being able to close this chapter. Being a pro gamer is really the best job in the world. Don't take it for granted. When you fall in love with the craft, the dedication comes naturally and the desire to be the best never ever goes away. I spent 20 years of my life committed to this hobby that turned into the most unique experience and allowed me to live my dreams. I'm so grateful for all these moments & I wanted to put it out there so I could have this memory forever.
From starting cs at age 9, to signing my first contract at 15, to building a legacy in CS with CLG, to playing on an international stage in 3 different games, to all the places I traveled that I would've never been able to & most importantly, to all the amazing staff and players I've worked with, thank you so so much <3

The #TFTVegasOpen was such an incredible experience start to finish. I’m reflecting on just how special the wknd was, and wanted to share some thoughts:
-
This event felt more like TFT con than a tournament. From the panels to the side stuff to the all around vibes - we were celebrating the existence of the game as much as the tournament itself.
-
Despite the low sample size, high variance format, this event was a great reminder of skill expression in TFT. We sometimes take for granted that the top players all have such good fundamentals. While many big names went home at each phase, the overall play improved dramatically with each passing round. There are simply so many opportunities to make mistakes or express skill in TFT that no amount of highrolling could save weaker players in the field.
-
This is also the best TFT meta I can remember in a long time, which means skill was heavily rewarded this tournament. Win and loss streak are viable; early game feels somewhat complex; the mid game is extremely dynamic and impactful (if you skip stage 3 every game, you’re bad); EVERY four cost carry is playable and NONE is obviously broken (I’m not sure this has ever happened before); legendary meta is highkey interesting; lots of end game board states. The meta is diverse, stylistically flexible, and cooking is highly incentivized. It’s obviously not perfect, but man was it a joy to watch great TFT on this patch.

Soju’s mental resilience cannot be overstated. I’ve been a chatter on sojus stream plenty, but being on the broadcast side is pretty brutal at times. That chat is an unruly mob, and it can get quite hostile for no reason. I legit don’t know how he does it day in, day out.
-
This community is something special. So many people came up just to share positive sentiments about the costream and DTIYDK. Everyone is just so nice. I felt bad that I spent the last three days running around like a chicken with my head cut off, so I couldn’t actually get much time with people. Thank you to went out of their way to introduce themselves to me. It really was the highlight of my event.
-
Last but certainly not least, I’m pretty sure we’ll look back on this final lobby as one of the best ever. Almost everyone was in at the end, and the individual games were phenomenal. So many close finishes. It also showcased the best of the checkmate format. Humbugs potential comeback felt epic. Every player who lost had a real chance to potentially win a lobby in check. Milala feels like a super deserving champion. Can’t believe he won it all on that line.
Ggs all around. Can’t wait for the next one.
