Always a curiosity that the NDP hasn’t dissolved. How it’s still a thing in Alberta is testament to a failed educational system. Nothing more.
Danielle Smith@ABDanielleSmith

This weekend, NDP members elected self-declared “eco-socialist” Avi Lewis @avilewis as their leader. Lewis has called for a full ban on new pipelines and all fossil fuel development, at a time when the world needs Alberta energy more than ever. And while Naheed Nenshi @nenshi may try to distance himself, the Alberta NDP’s own constitution makes clear they are tied to the federal party. The truth is, the Alberta NDP has a long track record of opposing pipelines and energy development. Their extreme views are a danger to jobs and affordability. The UCP will never stop fighting against radical forces, including the Alberta NDP, who want to shut down our economy and keep our resources in the ground.

@kinsellawarren If I read the room correctly is that the NDP should be defunct. It’s still crawling around Canadian circles with its insane platform of Marxism, victimhood, and anti-economy, anti-energy sludge, and seems to be completely devoid of anyone with an ounce of pragmatism.

Watching people who have never run or actively participated in a political campaign in their lives declare that the NDP is irrevocably dead, no debate, etc. is what happens when you let people who have never run or actively participated in a political campaign in their lives pronounce on politics. This is a new era, folks. A reality TV guy who boasted about sexually assaulting women was elected to the most powerful office in the world - twice. Nothing is certain in politics, anymore. Nothing. Weird shit can and will happen. Today's loser can become tomorrow's winner. #cdnpoli

@MattWalshBlog "other lesser countries are welfare queens expecting us to care for and fund them" The US spends less than 1% of its budget on foreign aid.

America is the richest, most powerful, and most generous country in the world. We are so superior to everyone else, and so charitable and kind and helpful, that unfortunately many of the lesser countries on the globe have become welfare queens who expect us to coddle, care for, fund, fight for and protect them. We are the parents who have taken good care of our children, but have not forced them to contribute enough, or earn their own keep, and now they are spoiled, ungrateful, and helpless. It’s time to cut the umbilical cord and force the rest of the countries to stand on their own two feet. We can’t do everything for everyone.

There should never be a “price” for a worthless commodity. Likewise there should never be a tax on carbon because it’s an effective tax on progress, GDP, and Canadian competitiveness in a global market. The 🇺🇸 isn’t that stupid. You have to compete with them.
Michelle Phillips@Michphil1998

Why is Alberta even negotiating on carbon pricing when eastern Canada imports 4 million barrels of oil with ZERO carbon pricing from foreign countries? @ABDanielleSmith WAKE THE HELL UP AS YOU’RE BEING HAD! OR are you in on this scheme?

@christoaivalis Shall we discuss the specifics of those 9.8 people? The activities they were engaged in? Numbers are interesting, so are other details.

@CTVNews What tactics? What is Canada doing to identify and remove fraudulent asylum-seekers, fake students, and any other variety of immigration fraud. The country isn’t a charity, but it’s certainly naively left itself open to massive scale abuse.

@Claire_Kraatz The massive obligations that older, distressed assets carry is the very reason no new party will come in with new technology, rework wells, and improve emissions. This lowers production, royalty receipts, and investment. There is no mess, and the human benefit of O&G is huge.

🚨🇬🇧 Former UK PM Liz Truss warned Canadians about PM @MarkJCarney . She blamed him for policies that helped trigger economic turmoil during his tenure as Governor of the Bank of England. Carney ran the Bank from 2013–2020. The same man now lecturing Canada on economic management. Canadians should ask: What was his track record abroad?🤔 #cdnpoli #Canada #UK #Economy #Carney

Hi Pierre, Gas in Canada has been higher priced than gas in the U.S. my entire life - for lots of reasons including market size, economies of scale and, yes, taxes. But it has nothing to do with any recent tax changes. In fact, a gap of 18% would be among the lowest on record.

Pierre Poilievre@PierrePoilievre

We face the same global conditions and oil prices. We even have our own abundant supply. But Liberal taxes on fuel that are picking the pockets of Canadians, who are paying 18% more than our American neighbours. Scrap the Liberal fuel standard tax to give drivers a break at the pumps.
