EBury SSHD backdoor?? on 400,000 hosts? Let's fuck around and find out. Dissect, understand & ridicule. Join the group effort at thc.org/ops or SSH straight into the server and check ~/ebury: ssh -o "SetEnv SECRET=lYQkdQHIuQyTJngVtIskqRLx" root@adm.segfault.net (password is 'segfault')

Today I got RDOFF (.rdf) files working in nasm 2.15. I wrote my own lib bc nasm didn't generate properly. Also patched the 32-bit loader in `rdx` with mmap tricks (shoutout ixi). An executable RDOFF has likely never run on a 64 bit system before today. Writeup soon! #BGGP6

Doing this again! This time I am looking into resurrecting an old object file format using scapy, and will probably look at some more entries for #BGGP6 . If you're working on any cool file stuff or just want to chat, come thru!

I need to mention I wasn't the only that showed up to chat/interview him, and that it wouldn't have been possible with our amazing friend Ben at Dartmouth who set it up.

A lot of groups sported the "satanic" theme originating from 29A (666 in hex). Other groups, metaphase, nuke, and team necrosis also added them because a lot of us just simply liked the aesthetics (still do) And it blows my mind as well, seeing malware get museums, Defcon booths, and threat actors getting figurines all will never cease to amaze me. While VX scene will never be the same as the current Malware scene I still think there's a lot of similarities but there's still no respectable groups or individuals creating the Malware. Back then vecna, bumblebee, Benny, knowdeth, Asmodeus, d4rk angel, gigabyte, raid, ratter, error, darkie, and mandragore were all respected and looked up to by the community We don't have that anymore and it's sad, growing up with all of them was great and I will always respect them You always have my respect for VXUG because you are the closest thing to keeping that flame alive, and i know they all respect you all for it as well.

What the fuck happened When I first made vx-underground in 2019 I was treated by the Information Security community like I was the devil reincarnated. I was treated so badly, it was unreal. I had friends suggest I stop because I would be perceived as a criminal. There were people who said that I should be shot in the head. Now in 2025 suddenly everyone and their Grandmother thinks malware is cool and badass. There is even a Malware Village at DEFCON. The entire reason I use the satanic imagery is because, historically, malware development was considered the worst of the worst. Hackers originally were seen as criminals, but even the hackers saw malware guys as criminals. Hence, a lot of old school (80, 90s) malware research groups used satanic imagery. We were the disenfranchised of the disenfranchised. Now it's ... accepted?

Also, every single one of you fucking nerds have the same aesthetic. Stop wearing vendor merch. Start wearing rags of clothing stapled together from old bags of dog food and used table clothes.

Really disappointed by some of these photos coming from DEFCON. A significantly low number of people look homeless. Im beginning to question the authenticity of you people.
