The future of identity is a battle of bots: Extrinsic AI vs Intrinsic AI. Extrinsic AI is trained for online identity verification: • Detect liveness: is this a human or not? But this isn’t CAPTCHA. Instead, it detects actions like the movement of your head or your eyes blinking. • Identify you: is this the human it claims to be? Make sure this is the right voice or face. But here’s the problem with Extrinsic AI – with the huge amount of data online, it’s easy for fraudsters to train LLMs to copy exactly someone’s face and voice. Your “external” characteristics will be easy for these LLMs to replicate. That brings us to Intrinsic AI – what we need to battle the fraudsters’ Extrinsic AI. Intrinsic AI uses data that’s not publicly available. Instead of looks and voice, it’s trained on characteristics like: • How you hold your phone • How fast you type • Whether you hesitate when logging in @Sardine's packaging Intrinsic AI signals into our fraud and identity verification products. Why? Because fraudsters are already using Extrinsic AI signals. We need to stay a step ahead. Only then can we distinguish the real you versus your GPT doppelganger.
