I like to make a run to the basement laundry room when my baby is napping in a crib in my ~9th floor apartment. Is that okay or nah

There are some days when I say: Yep, I’m Mom of five but it’s easy. They travel as a pack! And then some mornings, they travel as a pack of lemmings, and everyone falls off the cliff at different intervals. One has a sprained big toe, but it’s not broken because the multiple doctor’s visits yesterday told us that. One forgot his egg parachute project and needs it to be delivered before fifth period. And one took his shoes and socks off and is wearing his socks as “mittens” because his fingers feel better when they are “warm and calm”.

This video is from my home state- if she would have gotten to my clinic before I blew the whistle- she would have been put on testosterone by 13 years old, after a single visit, and possibly sent to have a double mastectomy before age 18. I am thankful to every state representative across this country for voting to stop the harm.

@blueboatmom @CattyArt1 I know one issue is the increase in overall body fat and fat redistribution- so obesity.

Towards the end of my tenure in the pediatric gender center we started screening all of the patients we put on testosterone for sleep apnea- because it had become incredibly common

I am a mom of five kids. I have gotten pretty good at a couple of things- one rule of mine- if you bring a toy you are responsible. Which means the fox stuffie at the library tonight is enjoying his new found life. 🦊😵

I’m fascinated that all the librarians are trans and still in face masks….it almost feels like socially mediated forces are at work

@Cici_RNinNYC @HellfireDamn The sibling was within arms reach and most likely around 12. I could make a reasonable argument that a 12 year old could demonstrate competency in this scenario. It’s not the policy, but I could argue it could be.

@JamieWhistle @HellfireDamn I know it’s besides the point, but do people still not know that kids below a certain age don’t hold their breath long (if at all)? They just keep inhaling when underwater and drown quickly? She should be reported to CPS.

Here is the scene- community swimming pool. Mom in a hijab, multiple kids, one is a toddler in a life jacket. Mom leaves toddler in the pool with a sibling and she gets into the hot tub. The policy states that parent needs to be with in arms reach of the toddler. I approach kindly and inform her of the policy and tell her she needs to get in the pool with her toddler- she says no. I am honestly a little bit shocked- we’re talking about keeping your kid from drowning. What she says next, I’m still processing. She says, “No” again and adds this, “you employ a man who pretends to be a woman. He was working wearing a dress and he told me a completely different policy.” “Clearly you don’t care about rules, you let men pretend to be women and don’t tell him any rules so my kid is gonna swim with his siblings” And how can I argue with that?

Does @patrickbetdavid ask other more pertinent questions? For example, “there is a pediatric field of medicine, which is currently being supported by your party and administration- where every single one of the systematic reviews of evidence done internationally has shown that there is essentially no quality evidence to back up the use of this intervention, as the party that represents science, what do you think should be done regarding this intervention? Follow up: “in addition this intervention causes lifelong harms as the known profile- not even a risk benefit equation, but as the known outcome to children- would you support this intervention?” I could keep going- I don’t care about the governor’s feelings about hypothetical kindness. I want to know what the governor thinks about scientific evidence.

You should watch this and you should be disturbed by the depth of the mania that afflicts the ruling party of institutional America

@JamieWhistle @VanceFry I’m listening to your interview with Patrick Hunter on informed dissent. Fuck that guy btw, I had to go off e this month because he won’t let my insurance cover it and it’s like 100 bucks a pop. Next time you see him say thanks for that, what a prick.

Rhetorical trick: put a claim you want people to accept next to one that sounds true. Problem: the “true” one has to actually be true. “Each of us is our own distinct mix of masculinity and femininity, a gender unto ourselves. And each of us is a racial mosaic of all our ancestors, a race shared by none but our biological siblings, should we have any”

Each sibling receives a random sampling of the parental gene pool. You might share some broadly similar results, but percentages will differ, sometimes incredibly meaningfully, especially with smaller ancestry percentages. I saw this show up with my own kids and the 23andMe reports.
