@DHQNigeria Did you just admit to acting on unverified information that led to a suspect being killed followed by the release of a misleading press statement afterwards?

CLARIFICATION ON RECENT REPORTS REGARDING THE NEUTRALISATION OF TERRORIST COMMANDER ABU-BILAL AL-MINUKI
The Defence Headquarters (DHQ) wishes to provide clarification following emerging public discourse regarding the recent neutralisation of a high-profile terrorist commander, Abu-Bilal Al-Minuki, during a joint operation with the United States Africa Command on 16 May, 2026.
Certain media reports referencing a similar operation in 2024 have mentioned the elimination of a terrorist commander bearing the same name. This has understandably generated questions about the identity of the individual recently neutralised.
It is important to state that within the North East region and across the Lake Chad Basin, the use of similar or identical names, aliases and nom de guerres is common among ISWAP and Boko Haram terrorists.
This is essentially part of their indoctrination program which is aimed at deliberately obscuring identities. This fact has been established over the years in the course of counter terrorism operations in the Northeast of Nigeria.
The Abu-Bilal Al-Minuki eliminated on 16 May, 2026 has been positively identified through human intelligence and technical surveillance as a senior global operative within the Islamic State network, with direct links to international terrorist coordination, funding and operations across the Sahel. There is therefore no ambiguity in his identity.
The strike is a significant milestone in our counter-terrorism efforts.
The Armed Forces of Nigeria, in partnership with the United States, remain committed to dismantling terrorist networks and will continue to provide verified information through official channels. The general public and the media are please urged to rely only on these sources to avoid confusion from coincidental name similarities.

THE DUAL LIFE OF JANET IGOHIA: THE FACE BEHIND THE BANDITRY
Janet Igohia presented herself to the world as a seamstress and a devout mother in Taraba State, Nigeria. To her neighbors, she was a quiet, church-going woman. In reality, she was an integral operative in a violent kidnapping syndicate, proving that the architecture of terror often hides behind a mask of normalcy.
Igohia was far from a peripheral figure. She was the widow of Gana, the notorious bandit leader who devastated Benue and Taraba. Following Gana’s death, rather than seeking redemption, she solidified her position by aligning with his successor. Her role was critical: she managed logistics, moved supplies, and personally collected ransom payments—once apprehended while receiving ₦1.5 million in blood money.
Her story exposes a chilling brand of hypocrisy. In a society that prides itself on religious devotion, Igohia sat in church pews while bankrolling the same bandits who traumatized families and snatched children from their homes.
Her downfall came in January 2024. A swift Nigerian Army sting operation caught her red-handed, leading to a breakthrough in regional security. Her subsequent cooperation with intelligence officers led to the destruction of bandit strongholds in the Kashimbila and Donga forests, resulting in the seizure of heavy weaponry, including GPMGs and AK-47s.
While Igohia is now behind bars, her case serves as a somber warning. It suggests that Nigeria’s kidnapping crisis is not confined to the bush; it is sustained by "ordinary" individuals in our markets, homes, and religious institutions. Janet Igohia’s story is not just a report on a criminal’s end—it is a mirror reflecting the hidden complicity that allows evil to thrive.
We must remain vigilant. Sometimes, the face of terror is the one we least suspect.

Honestly, selling rams can be really complicated sometimes. Their price is never the same as when you bought them, especially after a week of feeding. A single ram can eat nothing less than ₦800–₦1,000 daily, so you can’t expect the seller to still sell you that ₦200k ram at the same price after 1–2 weeks.
The closer Sallah gets, the higher ram prices go. Most sellers calculate their actual cost + profit + transportation + feed and other expenses.
Those who buy rams early understand the stress I’m talking about, but buying earlier is still the best option.
