The Baudelaire poem that Lestat has set to music is La Fontaine de Sang from Les Fleurs du Mal. It’s a perfect choice and says so much that he’s not willing to say directly in his narration. This is a pretty good translation imo.

i am guilty of this too sometimes i fear. but we are only two episodes in to a very non-linear story, and lestat is not a very forthcoming person when it comes to his story. breathe everyone

in all fairness when i started this show, i went in completely blind. no knowledge whatsoever. and while i do think book knowledge helps contextualize stuff, i feel it also leads to people getting upset when something is changed.

i also feel like it’s important to remember that the show is going to make more sense on rewatch when every episode is out. like me personally, when I started s2, I was kind of bored and not as into it, but now that I have the full context and multiple rewatches i love it

i genuinely don’t think gabistat has been changed by that much in the adaptation thus far. gabriella has a far more consciously sinister attitude to her, but most of the aspects of their relationship are still there.
