This crisis is arguably already impacting what we see on our screens. Mid level TV has gone, the soaps are disappearing. If we can’t invest in sustaining our industry through storms like this, then the future is bleak, on screen and off.

It’s disingenuous at best to treat thousands of highly skilled TV makers like gig economy delivery drivers. The link between broadcasters and freelancers needs to be one of mutual support and respect. Freelancers aren’t responsible for the contraction in commissions. Support us.
