@EkenjokuT @bapphah If only us Africans, can have the courage to stop inheriting religion and start making proper open minded research before agreeing to be in one. PS: In Islam it is “Know Me before you worship Me.”[God] not the other way round.

@jamsanz @bapphah How many context of the Bible have you understood? Before you made judgement without understanding. There’s nothing to understand about the Quran. I fully understand the Bible well enough to know that any revelation contrary to the Bible is false and not from God.

@EkenjokuT @bapphah Can you point me to were I made judgements of the bible? What you fail to understand is, we share the same values and practice almost the same religion with the exception one prophet that came after Jesus. Before, there were only believers and non-believers (idolators).

@EkenjokuT @bapphah These people stoned, beated and bartered the muslims for years all because the message that threatens their ancestral religion of idol worship. For you to better understand, no one was ever forced into islam amongst the people that were stoned.

@jamsanz @bapphah A battle you started. Mohammed made the first move to intercept a caravan of the quraysh of Mecca. Defend themselves against a people you first attacked. Wow! Just amazing, isn’t it?

@EkenjokuT @bapphah The people that drove him and his companions out of their homes. The people that tortured, extorted and persecuted him and his companions for simply telling them to leave idol worship and only worship one true God.

@EkenjokuT @bapphah It is practiced by people like you that pick up things without context. Why do you go to the church to read the bible? Since it's english, you should have no problem understanding right? Why do you need the pastors to give you contexts on a lot of things? There you have your ans

@EkenjokuT @bapphah This is why it is important to understand the context of Qur'an verses and not just single them out and make a judgement without understanding what led to their reveal. I leave you in peace and I hope you start making properly research about religion and not just inherit religion

@EkenjokuT @bapphah So Qur'an 9:29 isn’t about forced religion or random violence — it’s contextual wartime legislation, revealed to regulate conflict and prevent chaos, not promote it.

@EkenjokuT @bapphah I sincerely wish you can listen to reason so that we can have a proper educative conversation as to why those verses were revealed at the time they were revealed. I'll be dropping a following tweet to give you full context.

@EkenjokuT @bapphah Most importantly, the Qur’an in several places clearly commands justice, peaceful coexistence, and honoring treaties. Violence is never justified against those who are peaceful.

@EkenjokuT @bapphah Quran 9:29 addresses state-level conflict, not individuals. It is about how a government deals with hostile forces, not how Muslims treat peaceful neighbors or everyday people.

@EkenjokuT @bapphah Qur’an 9:29 This verse came during a time when the Muslim state in Madinah faced real military threats from the Byzantine Empire and allied groups who had broken treaties and were preparing for war.

@EkenjokuT @bapphah Qur’an 9:29 is one of the most misunderstood verses. It was revealed in a specific historical context, not as a blanket command against non-Muslims.

@EkenjokuT @bapphah Qur’an 8:60 This one is about being prepared so attacks don’t happen. The goal is deterrence and safety, not starting fights. Strength here is meant to protect peace, not destroy it.

@EkenjokuT @bapphah Qur’an 8:59 This verse reassures oppressed people that injustice doesn’t last forever. It’s saying wrongdoing won’t go unanswered, not encouraging revenge or harm.

@EkenjokuT @bapphah Qur’an 8:13 This explains why consequences happened: years of persecution, expulsion, and hostility. It’s about accountability for actions, not punishment for beliefs.

@EkenjokuT @bapphah Without context, some verses sound harsh. With history, they’re clearly situational guidance for a persecuted community — not a general call to violence.
