I don't think Aditya Dhar set out consciously to do a "myth-making" project. He got the idea of "unknown gunmen", did the research, wrote the story and made the film. If it spreads the idea of "Naya Bharat" which doesn't turn the other cheek but takes out a knife, so be it. Good :)
D1 D2 are such humongous hits because
1. They are extremely well-made edge-of-the-seat thrillers
2. It speaks the unvarnished truth that hundreds of millions of Indians have known for decades about the ISI and its ideology/ intent/ activities.
Now, to show ISI for what is is propaganda? Nonsense. To show a war on narco-terrorist jihadis is anti-Muslim? Gimme a break. Of course all of them are Muslim. What, Dhar should have included a few Buddhists among them?
In D2, Hamza explains to Yalina that he has nothing against Pakistan or its people, he only wants to destroy the Ghazwa-e-Hind gang which has also brought only misery to common Pakistanis.
This propaganda uproar and hand-wringing is peak BS.

@GareeboOP Alam only had a selective info on the operatives not their full biodata. That is how it works in the real life too.

@AbhimanyuGandh3 @aaraynsh I don't exactly know how this event was organised, but it seems like the music album launch for Dhurandhar 2. And I don't see any live orchestra. More like a vibe event.
English

@AbhimanyuGandh3 @aaraynsh You are right but It is not so bad here too. For most of the paid events or live shows, the artists do go live in India. Arijit, Sonu Nigam, Shaam, Sunidhi, Shreya, Sukhwinder, ...you name them.
English

@jamwalvikram @aaraynsh In West, artists are demeaned for lip syncing. Careers are destroyed. But in India, we celebrate them. I dont know the reason. Why?
English

@AbhimanyuGandh3 @aaraynsh Songs are super good. Visuals add.
English

@aaraynsh Why are u guys celebrating lip sync videos?

@Bedil_Khushabi @Gypsy_heart8 Pakistanis don't seem to invest in their regional languages - almost ashamed of them.
English

@Gypsy_heart8 To not learn Persian is to lose a thousand years worth of our history and become rootless weeds instead of rooted oaks. It also means abandoning Urdu in teh long term and having it become Hindi, an ugly artificil language
English

Why should Pakistani kids learn Persian? It was once an imperial import and it doesn’t hold that value anymore, and now has been overtaken by another imperial import, i.e English which still holds great value for a student’s future career. They might as well learn Chinese.
Containeristan@guldaar
Whatever happened to Pakistan teaching its young ones Iqbal? Hikayat e Saadi? Omar Khayyam? Hazaar Dastaan? Hafiz & Rumi’s poetry translated into Urdu? How did we forsake our Persian connections? To say the omission has been systematic & sinister would be an understatement.

Terence Tao put it plainly: there is no evidence that LLMs exhibit genuine creativity.
Yes, they have solved some Erdős problems. But these are low-hanging fruit, questions that attracted little attention and that yield once the right existing techniques are applied. That is not creativity. That is search plus recombination.
Yes, LLM outputs can look impressive. But look at who is impressed: typically non-experts. Experts know very well that LLM performance gets terrible when you approach the frontier of human knowledge.
And this is not a temporary gap. It reflects a structural limitation.
We do not fully understand human creativity. But we do know a key property:
Conceptual leaps: the ability to generate new representations, not just recombine existing ones.
LLMs do not do this. They interpolate in representation space. They operate within existing conceptual frameworks; they do not create new ones.
This is why we haven’t “yet seen them take the next step”.
