@romeocza @_PastorUmoEno What I find really concerning about this interview is that the governor said he discussed with some investors but doesn’t even know their names.

I don't know about other Governors, but Mine, HE @_PastorUmoEno went there to leverage the historic event for Akwa Ibom's business. HE was sourcing for investments in Ibom Deep Seaport and Akwa Ibom's power ecosystem...both will totally change the economic trajectory of the State. Even @BBCWorld had to recognise him, hence this interview

The Nigerian president’s visit to the UK was his latest high-profile foreign policy moment on the world stage. But Tinubu’s diplomatic engagements have not produced concrete benefits for ordinary Nigerians. chathamhouse.org/2026/03/tinubu…

@Three_Leg_Bird He practically declared that the port wouldn’t be allowed by this president led APC federal govt, only to join them later. What a big shame.

@ProfMich @markessien I am not sure the laws allow this today or are referring to mini-grid and embedded power which is different from what he is saying from my understanding.

@markessien The electricity act already allows individuals to do that but this won't work, cos of additional cost of metering, cables , dispute resolution, physical constraint A better financing structure, policy and lower unit cost of inputs is important to get the gold spot and scale

Nigeria can rapidly fix the power problem for consumers by passing a very general law saying that people can directly sell solar power to their communities with no restrictions. The rest will be solved by the free market.

Gov Umo Eno left his job in Akwa Ibom and followed President Tinubu to London. Looking forward to the developments/industry he is bringing back to Akwa Ibom as a result. Sycophancy misconstrued as obedience to the detriment of Akwa Ibom people. Economic value, Photo ops ke ibidia

When Gov. Umo Eno returns from his photo ops trip to London, the Akwa Ibom APC slaves are going to congregate at Ibom Airport to welcome him back. Paid crowds in uniforms ringing bells and chanting. Hours later they all return home to their miseries, children in rotted schools.

I WEEP FOR AKWA IBOM How are the mighty fallen! The once reputable Etinan Institute is now in ruins. For Nigerians from other parts of the country, Etinan Institute used to be one of the most prestigious and outstanding secondary schools in Akwa Ibom State. Etinan Institute currently has 27 academic staff members, including the Principal and Vice Principals, serving a student population of approximately 2,100 students. The school currently faces serious infrastructure and welfare challenges. There is no functional electricity supply on campus. The transformer that previously served the school has long collapsed, forcing the institution to tap electricity from a distant community, which can only power a few light bulbs. Until the intervention of the 2006 alumni class last year, the school had no reliable water supply for the entire school community. As a result, students often stay and dine in darkness at night, creating difficult and unsafe living conditions. Security is also a major concern. The school’s perimeter fencing is porous, allowing easy access for vandals and unauthorized individuals, despite the presence of both male and female students in the hostels. Sanitation conditions are also poor. The boys’ hostel still relies on pit toilets, highlighting the urgent need for improved sanitation facilities within the school. The administrative building, which houses several critical facilities, is now badly dilapidated and at risk of collapse. The ground floor previously accommodated the Principal’s office, the cashier’s office, the counselor’s office, and the store room, while the first floor housed the art studio and the school library. Due to the deteriorating condition of the structure, the first floor has already been evacuated to reduce the load on the building, as its current state poses a significant safety risk. Boarding facilities have also declined significantly. The school, which once had over 500 boarding students, now has fewer than 100, as many parents are unwilling to keep their children in such difficult conditions. In addition, the quality of food provided for the boarders is reported to be very poor, further discouraging enrollment in the boarding system. For the past two weeks, there was no water supply at all in the school. Etinan Institute closed for the term yesterday. Will the students and staff return to meet the school in the same abominable condition? It is important to note that Etinan Institute is the second oldest secondary school in Akwa Ibom State and at one time had the highest student population in the state, making its current state of decline particularly concerning. It is currently “the best” public secondary school in Etinan Local Government Area. If this is what the best looks like, you can only imagine how bad other public schools are going to be in the LGA. Mind you, this local government is where some of the leading politicians in the State are from, including the following: 1. Paul Ekpo (Former PDP State Chairman and current HOR Member representing Etinan Federal Constituency). 2. Uduak Ekpo Ufot (Member, House of Assembly member representing Etinan State Constituency). 3. Isantim Kenneth Okon (Commander, Ibom Community Watch). 4. Uku Umo (Chairman, Etinan LGA). 5. Uko Essien Udom, SAN (Attorney General). 6. Dennis Esq., SSA to Senate President. 8. Anietie Usen, SSA to Gov Umo Eno. Some Alumni associated with government today include: 1. Essien Ndueso (SA to Gov on Documentation). 2. Okon Emah (Fmr Commissioner for Health, Akwa Ibom). This is a State that a governor used about N32 billion to build a worship centre. A State that spends billions annually on the private aircraft of the governor. The same State that has received well over N2.53 trillion in the last 32 months from the Federation Account. A State whose governor is currently gallivanting far away in London in the name of being a loyal servant of a failed President.

Minister of Education bragging about plans to bring UK University to Nigeria. What an achievement. So the Nigerian universities are now useless? Instead of revamping Nigerian education, you are bringing UK university to kill it. What exactly is wrong with Nigerian leadership?

@Emiearth That article doesn’t apply here. The match had not been called off by the referee at the time. The referee’s decisions to continue the match and the result on the field of play are final.

Article 82–84 applied. Correct. BUT why didn’t the referee, with a head like yam, enforce it that night? Instead, he let the game run its course. Crazy!

🚨 JUST IN 🗣️: Jamie Carragher on the Africa Cup of Nations final ruling after Senegal national football team were ruled to have forfeited and Morocco national football team awarded a 3–0 win: 🗣️ “Right, hold on a minute… so Senegal win the Africa Cup of Nations final, the crowd’s going wild, the players are lifting the trophy, and everyone’s celebrating and now they’ve been told, ‘No, sorry, Morocco are the winners 3–0!’ Are you having a laugh? I mean, this is exactly why I said the AFCON isn’t a major tournament. In Europe? In a Champions League final? In a Euros final? This would never, ever happen! You don’t hand out medals one day and then say, ‘Actually, change of plan the other team wins.’ Madness! And can you imagine the scenes in the dressing room? Senegal players crying, Morocco players confused… who’s holding the trophy now? This is football or is it Monopoly?! Honestly, it’s a joke. The whole tournament should be about what happens on the pitch, not in some office behind a desk. But no, in AFCON… you can celebrate a trophy today and lose it tomorrow. That’s why I’ve always said it in Europe, this would never fly. Never!” 👀🔥
