Such information consumption patterns may lead parents to invest less time & resources in their child’s academic performance, & thus negatively impact students’ educational outcomes. The team will study if making standardized test scores easier to access impacts outcomes.

✨ James Robinson just won the Nobel Prize in Economics! 🎉✨ But honestly… Nico, my 5-year-old, saw it coming! 😂 Intensely taking notes in James’ lecture. James even gave Nico feedback and (I think it was James) commended him for his good notation. Watch for more.

It’s likely even picking up on the things that will be most salient for my students, too––all the tech examples on where and why experimentation is used. I’ve been encouraging my students to use AI tools every step along the way, so we can learn about what’s possible, together.

The Audio Overview shifts me into a different learning style, which is refreshing. Even where it goes a bit astray, it has offered me new perspectives to consider.

There’s a new tool that generates a podcast conversation with two hosts based on sources you feed it. Google’s NotebookLM is in beta phase, and it has already hooked me for class prep. I’ve been giving it my slides before class to see what it makes of the material.

Eerie. As an avid podcast listener, I spend a lot of attention on what I feed my brain… These two voices are becoming my go-to’s, zipping me into a space of trust. Been experimenting with this for my teaching prep, giving new cases a listen while I make dinner. Loving it.

It’s sure to be a busy term, and I’m excited to get to know so many wonderful Anderson students. We’ll be digging into case studies, learning how to use several fundamental concepts and tools, and connecting with a number of guest speakers. #professor #academia #ucla #business

Fall quarter is underway at @uclaanderson. I’m teaching two different courses this fall, Strategy to our Executive MBAs, and FEiSty – my 2-quarter capstone on field experimentation (e.g., A/B testing).
