Chinese archaeologists have discovered two ancient chariots in a new round of excavations at a burial pit of the world-famous Terracotta Warriors army and weapons in northwest China's Shaanxi. The chariots were found in Pit No. 2 at the Emperor Qinshihuang's Mausoleum Site Museum along with 15 pieces of chariot and horse gear and nine weapons during an excavation in 2025, which covered approximately 30 sqm of the 6,000-sqm pit. One notable finding is that the chariots were buried without wheels — a feature not previously confirmed in this section of the pit, providing more insights into the studies of the Qin Dynasty (221 B.C.-207 B.C.). Discovered in 1974, the Terracotta Warriors army was built by Emperor Qinshihuang of the Qin Dynasty, who unified China for the first time.
