In 2023, Nataliia Daletska was told her son Nazar, a Ukrainian soldier, had died near the front. A DNA match confirmed it. There was a funeral, & he was buried in the local cemetery. Then a few weeks ago, Nazar - very much alive - came home. My story: theguardian.com/news/ng-intera…

Since 2 March, over 100,000 people have crossed from war in Lebanon into Syria.  Thosands of desperate families do not know what to do next. Many  have arrived in Syria having left their lives, homes and everything else behind as evacuation orders gave them no time to prepare. Many will now have no job  nor source of income.  Needs upon arrival include emergency aid. shelter, identity cards and livelihoods support. The communities receiving them are often deeply vulnerable. Syria is still in ruins and receives little investment and reduced funding. Support must be stepped up to help those returning and their communities to offer people the benefits of safety and the opportunity to rebuild with dignity NRC supprts returnees in different locations across and support families in communities of arrival to secure access to civil documentation and basic services.

BREAKING: The U.S. has decided to lift sanctions on Russia and allow the sale of Russian oil and petroleum products loaded onto ships from March 12th. The new U.S. license to sell Russian oil will be valid until April 12 and does not apply to transactions related to Iran.
