I’ve visited many places, lived in many places, and known a lot of people. The extreme fear of ageing is quite distinctly American. Europeans are out there having babies and starting their careers in their 40s. Americans think their life is over if they’re not making 6 figures straight out of college and having kids before they turn 25. I’ve never seen any other country obsess over age, or monetize that fear, quite like the US. Even in my own family. Everyone raised predominantly in the US is always considering their age, everyone raised predominantly outside of the US barely even thinks about it.
