I had emergency brain (shunt) surgery at Duke Medical Center when I was 8. I'm 42. No shunt revisions since. Shunts usually fizzle after 6 yrs. Asked later by my surgeon how it was that I was doing so well, 8-year-old me replied: "God and a great doctor." He concurred. Nuff said.

@JonRothstein Wishful thinking for this Duke season ticket holder but I would disagree.Broke my foot 3 times playing for the University of Buffalo and it took at least 8 weeks to heal.Not to mention rebreaking it if returning too soon which I did #🙏

Duke’s Caleb Foster (foot) has an “outside chance” to play in Friday’s Sweet 16 game against St. John’s, per Jon Scheyer. Has not played since 3/7. Averages 8.5 PPG. Significant news for the Blue Devils.

Old friend texted me last night asking "why did you stop writing about Virginia Tech basketball the last month?" Had to tell him I write because it's enjoyable. Watching this team the last four weeks has been far from fun; writing about it would be even worse...

I need a break from @HokiesMBB for a good while. As much as I love it, I'm tired of always being frustrated and disappointed. Time to turn the page and root my second-favorite (and childhood favorite) @DukeMBB onto our 6th national title. LET'S. GO. DUKE. LET'S.GO.DUKE!!!!!!!

@jared_turner To be fair, it’s hard to get an update about 20-30 minutes after the injury happened.

@ChadWillis Yep. And Amani looks to be injured. Rest assured this won't be a repeat of 2022.

In a game the Hokies had to have, they led for zero seconds. The only path to the dance now is winning the ACC Tournament. We said when it went down, the inability to finish against Wake, Stanford and SMU would be what kept VT out of the tournament. And here we are.
