"For the gate is narrow and the way is hard that leads to life, and those who find it are few." — Matthew 7:14 The narrow road does not seem very appealing. It's costly. It's a hard road to walk. And for those reasons few choose it. But in the narrow road we see the great reversal of the gospel. The broad road looks like the better option. It's easy. It's well traveled. And it promises you life. But follow it to the end and see where it goes: Destruction. The road that promised you everything delivers nothing but ruin. The narrow road is the opposite. It calls you to difficulty. It will cost you. You can't bring everything with you. But follow it to the end and it delivers life. It's beautifully ironic. The broad road costs you nothing to get on, but it ends up costing you everything. The narrow road requires you to come empty-handed, but it ends up giving you everything. It's precisely how we come to God. We don't come with our good works or our church attendance or our moral track record. All we bring in our hands is our inadequacy and our sin. We lay them down at the feet of Christ because he is the narrow gate. He is the way through. And when we come to him with nothing, he gives us life. Praise be to God.

We have bag we give first time guests. It includes an ESV Gosepl of Matthew Journaling Bible (our current book), CFA coupon, gift card for a cup of coffee, next steps handout, and brochure about the church and ministries. We also train our folks to look out for people with a bag so they can welcome guests.
