@Section344Lions I wouldn’t mind having 10 days to prepare for a division game.

Give me a non-division home game Week 3 & I’m feeling great about our chances to start at least 3-1, and that would be with already having arguably the hardest game on the schedule at Buffalo already in the review mirror. Week 1 vs. Saints Week 2 at Buffalo Week 4 at Carolina

@fiendformojitos Meanwhile Jon Favreau’s movies may have looked like shit, but for the last 10 years he’s been home for dinner every night and his kids can come play with lightsabers anytime they want.

One of the talking points NFC North teams like to throw out is that Lions fans supposedly were nasty to Stafford for booing the Rams when they came to town, but if you poll Lions fans they would have him as a HOF more than any other fan base besides the Rams.
Peter Bukowski@Peter_Bukowski

When Stafford was in Detroit, he was seen as a tier below the Big Ben/Rivers/Romo level of QBs, nevermind the Peyton/Brady/Rodgers group. The idea he deserves to be first-ballot HOFer now is absolute nonsense. He’s closer to Rich Gannon and Matt Ryan than Brady/Rodgers

@colton_pouncy Letting Amik go for a future 6th comp pick, signing McCreary super cheap, and getting Abney in the fifth. That’s good business.

@DetroitOnLion I remember in Hard Knocks, Campbell laid out 3 rules. If memory serves it was don’t disrespect the team, don’t disrespect the game, and don’t be overweight. It’s not just the conditioning. it’s also, if he has a serious injury, how can you trust him to rehab and get back quick

@StickToTheModel I’d rather have thieneman/blake miller combo for the Lions but understand why tackle would be drafted first.

Teams are very aware of the consensus board. They do mock drafts regularly just like the rest of us. So, if you hear that a team loves the 23rd player on the consensus board at, say, the 6th overall pick... find me skeptical.

@DetroitOnLion The one caveat here is that if it comes with an under the table team ambassador position down the line to pay him back I’m cool with it.

@DetroitOnLion There was gamesmanship on both sides. That’s the business I guess.

The only way I think you can pin the lack of communication on Decker is that he probably shouldn't have announced his return until Holmes returned his call. But it's also not great that Holmes didn't return his text or call.

I have zero problem with the Lions asking Decker to take a pay cut. And zero problem with Decker saying "no." But the communication needs to be way better about that, based on Decker's side of the story. He deserved better.
Chris (Knows Ball)@KnowsChris12300

@DetroitOnLion I don’t agree, it sounds like they didn’t want to pay up and he didn’t want to not get paid. It’s his fault for overvaluing himself.

Yeah that's just how sports fandom generally works. Other fanbases are famously really cool and chill about their quarterbacks. Go tweet that Bo Nix has the 2nd lowest yards per completion since the NFL merger and see what happens. It's fun I promise.
Jared@jaredraabe

@startkyIeorton Bears fans are funny because you must not criticize whoever the golden boy qb/coach/gm is at the time, but the second the switch flips and they realize they suck it’s the same bears fans who hate said golden boy harder than anyone.
