2nd night of moon/planet/stargazing with my son, through the @ExploreSci telescope we got from @CloudBreakOptic. I figured out how to use the phone adapter this time, but didn't think to save in RAW. 😥 ... Tweaked the contrast & such with the @pixlr app.

@GloberZune @_iheartcanines Elias is in gish gallop mode. Of course he wants you to waste your time explaining every ignorant, dishonest meme he posts... So he can completely ignore your reasoned response and just deflect with more gish to waste more time.

@SuperSisi I think Grand Theft Auto. If I recall, GTA 2 was a marked improvement over the 1st GTA. But GTA 3 was, of course, on a whole other level beyond the first two.

@holisticnut33 Orbit is perpetual free-fall. You don't "feel" free fall. It's when you and/or whatever you're in/on are falling together, at the same rate. What you do feel is the transition in and out of free-fall.

@holisticnut33 Yes, falling is gravitational acceleration. But "orbit" is specifically when the trajectory of that acceleration causes an object to "fall" AROUND a gravitational mass, horizontal & vertical acceleration effectively resulting in a constant speed, relative to the mass.

Did you know that if you are orbiting something, then you are constantly accelerating?? Acceleration is the change of speed or direction… And you will always feel acceleration. How do we not feel the Earth constantly accelerating around the Sun at 66,600 mph?? 🤔🤔

@plain_see Stellar aberration has no explanation in the flat earth world. Measurable, repeatable, and conclusive proof of earth's revolution around the sun. Also, a laser ring gyro will drift 15º an hour. Proof of earth's rotation. Again, no explanation on a flat earth.

@FJWLDS @mykael_yuddy There's no reason that it HAD to work out exactly as it happened to. If it worked out differently, some things would just be different. It feels perfect and finely tuned for us because we are perfectly ADAPTED to the existing conditions. No evidence for a god.

@FJWLDS @mykael_yuddy And it's not that everything HAD to happen perfectly for everything to end up exactly as it is. Rather, we live in a universe that happened to work one way and we developed along with part of that, adapting and fitting within the environment we were dealt.

NASA teams have polled 'go' to proceed toward Artemis II's launch around the Moon. We're targeting March 19 to roll the rocket out to the launchpad at @NASAKennedy in advance of a launch attempt on April 1, pending completion of work at the pad: go.nasa.gov/4b8jgq3

@FJWLDS @mykael_yuddy In terms of the lack of evidence for a god, yes. Precisely. But in terms of the history of events that led to this moment as we are, there's a lot to see. But things could have just as easily been very different, and we would just have developed differently

@FJWLDS @mykael_yuddy Something from nothing?! 🤨 Physics organizes things a certain way, like how condensing objects rotate faster, and faster rotating objects flatten & spread. Gravity collects things together and binds other objects together over distance. It's nothing supernatural. Just physics.

@jaredvc @mykael_yuddy Yes. And it is curious that their hundreds upon hundreds of them. But you think, “nothing to see here.” Something from nothing, order from chaos, etcetera is rather magical. It’s soooo magical that today we get Simulation Theory.

@FJWLDS @mykael_yuddy No, seriously. There may be trillions or infinite permutations of how/when things happened. If any one of those countless options happened, IT would seem like a one in a billion chance, too. But one of them HAD to happen.

@jaredvc @ColonelFalcon Pretty good company! There's also another heli game that is pretty similar but squeezes MD dry with all fancy effects called Red Zone. A tad more difficult.

Big open maps with non-linear objectives full of vehicles and buildings to destroy and hostages to rescue, with physics and rules realistic enough to feel like a heli sim, that's Desert Strike from March '92. From times when EA wasn't wearing its true colors. #vidyadaily

@Keith72718138 I provided the facts about how DSCOVR/EPIC captured that photo in your original post. But you prefer to ignore those facts and insist that such an image can only be fake... It's not fake. It's a photo taken by the EPIC camera. But you need it to be fake.

@FJWLDS @mykael_yuddy Preponderance of evidence? Your "evidence" seems to mostly hinge on the universe being perfectly suited, and just right, for us & all we see, so it has to be planned or designed to result in us & everything we see. What "Truths" is belief acting upon that makes it not blind.

@jaredvc @mykael_yuddy As Scott Adam’s said, “He hopes.” And yes, one can choose to believe. One can choose to follow evidence if it leads outside their worldview. Belief is not blind. It’s acting upon truths. It’s acting upon the preponderance of evidence.

@FJWLDS @mykael_yuddy I hope you've heard this one before... That a hole is not perfectly shaped to fit the puddle inside it. There was just a hole and water fell into it and the water, being water, adapted its form to fit within and fill that hole.

@FJWLDS @mykael_yuddy Some of the events could have occurred slightly differently and we'd still be in this moment but with some differences. The universe did plan to get to here, we developed a certain way based on the environment we developed within.
