Coquitlam SAR with assistance from Talon Helicopters rescued two males from the summit of Coquitlam Mountain yesterday, one of the subjects with an ankle injury. Both were hover-loaded into a helicopter and delivered to Town Centre Firehall helipad.

Coquitlam SAR was called out this evening for an individual who was last seen swimming at Widgeon Falls. With assistance from Ridge Meadows SAR, we searched the area immediately around the falls and down stream with nothing located this evening.

This was a landmark rescue for Coquitlam SAR as it was our first operational use of helicopter hoist rescue. Like long line rescue, hoist allows us to insert and retrieve rescuers, equipment and subjects in difficult locations and is perfect for emergency responses like this one.

Coquitlam SAR was activated for a hiker with a serious lower limb injury near Widgeon Lake around noon yesterday. Three of our rescue techs responded with Talon Helicopters AS365N2 Dauphin Rescuers were hoisted into to the subject's location.
