We’re rolling out updates to improve transparency for Parody, Commentary, and Fan (PCF) accounts on our platform. Starting April 10, all PCF accounts will be required to include PCF-compliant keywords at the beginning of their account names and avoid using identical avatars to the entities they depict. These requirements also apply to accounts that have the Parody label. We’re continuing to refine this label and will soon have more details on how it will replace these requirements. These changes are designed to help users better understand the unaffiliated nature of PCF accounts and reduce the risk of confusion or impersonation. We encourage all affected accounts to update their profiles before the enforcement date. As always, PCF accounts—like all accounts on X—must continue to follow the X Rules, including our Authenticity policy: help.x.com/en/rules-and-p…. If you believe an account is impersonating someone or misleading users, you can report it in-app or via our Help Center.

At X, we’ve spent years refining @CommunityNotes, driven by our core belief in transparency. That’s why our algorithm and program details have always been open-source — freely available for anyone to use and build upon. This openness has enabled Meta to start with a well-established, academically studied program as a foundation. As Meta begins their Community Notes program to address misleading content, we’re excited to see that Meta will initially adopt X's open-source algorithm to guide their rating system.

I’m excited to announce our second Global Transparency Report. From July to Dec 2024, we achieved a 61% drop in content violations and a 28% reduction in account violations. My team is dedicated to keeping X safe—transparency is our promise.

Today, we are proud to release X’s second Global Transparency Report, covering safety enforcement from July to December 2024. This report highlights our ongoing commitment to fostering a secure and trustworthy environment for all users. transparency.x.com Over this six-month period, our Safety team played a critical role in navigating major global events, including over 28 national elections globally and the US Election. Through this report, we provide full transparency into our content moderation efforts, enforcement actions, and policy implementations. It serves as a valuable resource for our community to better understand how we safeguard platform integrity, respond to legal requests, and protect users at scale. Notably, we’ve seen significant improvements in key safety metrics: - Total account violations dropped by approximately 28%, driven primarily by an approximate 28% reduction in Platform Manipulation and Spam violations. - Total content violations declined by 61%, primarily due to a 64% reduction in Platform Manipulation and Spam violations between H1 and H2. - Total non-Platform Manipulation and Spam reports decreased by approximately 19% from H1 to H2. These results reflect the dedication of our Safety team, who work tirelessly to uphold platform integrity worldwide. We are honored to share this report and remain committed to continuous transparency and improvement.

We’re rolling out profile labels for parody accounts to clearly distinguish these types of accounts and their content on our platform. We designed these labels to increase transparency and to ensure that users are not deceived into thinking such accounts belong to the entity being parodied. Parody labels will be applied to both posts and accounts on X to clearly demonstrate the source of the content you’re seeing. We’ll share details soon on when the label will become mandatory for parody accounts. These accounts, like all accounts on X, must still adhere to the X Rules - particularly our Authenticity policy: help.x.com/rules-and-poli….
