Actually, in Japan’s oldschool era, it was marketed as 'Lifestyle Lolita.' We had 'Casual Lolita' back then, where we’d just throw on a lacey cutsew with a miniskirt or salopette. They even made school socks—basically BTSSB’s version of the Ralph Lauren ones. The girls in the pics are all dolled up for Laforet, but back when home-washable cotton was the standard, I wore that stuff daily as a mom with a toddler. Secondhand prices weren't even that different from what Jirai-kei costs now!
