Most people saw this post and missed the real point. It wasn’t about AI generating UI. Claude helps with ideas. It helps you move faster through thinking, research, and structure. That part is easy now. The harder part is what comes after. What to ignore. What to simplify. What actually deserves to exist on screen. That’s where design still breaks. Not in generating options. In choosing the right one. My process with Claude is just: Dump context → explore the problem → stress test directions → refine thinking Then I design. If anything, AI made this clearer: Speed is not the advantage anymore. Judgment is.

Sometimes the only real difference between a mid-level and a senior designer is how you defend your decisions. If your strongest argument is “it looks good” or “I think it feels better,” people will stop taking your work seriously. Learn to tie your choices to user behavior, business impact, or clarity. Even if you end up being wrong in the end. The confidence to say “here’s why this direction makes sense, and here’s what we’ll measure” beats being “right” every single time.
