@5Seiders @jordanrivait Losing him, Ghost and Walman and replacing with Chairot, Holl, Gustafson, Petry and others. Fair about forwards not having it which ties into bad management for me. Amateur scouts very good on D but negated by bad pro decisions.

@jordanrivait @JasonGregor Hronek wasn’t really worth that money either. He completely wilted after the Reaves hit in 22-23 and his production peaked with us despite getting to play with Quinn Hughes.

Still can't believe Detroit traded Hronek at 2023 trade deadline because they didn't want to pay him. Their pro scouting on defenceman is the main reason they are 10 years without playoffs. Their amateur scouts are great at drafting D, but pro scouts have made some huge errors.

Ducks win. Edmonton can't play LA in first round. Oilers leading 5-1 so they will play Anaheim starting Monday night. Last series was seven game in 2017 won by Ducks.

Ducks go ahead 5-4 with 2:54 to go and they still have two minutes of PP time.

Unique strategy by O'Connor to challenge Murphy, but not be ready and Murphy drops gloves and drops O'Connor with a few quick lefts. I suspect O'Connor didn't know he was a lefty.

Can someone explain how Hughes is in the convo. Has been on ice for 82GA 5x5. Most of any of the contenders by double digits. Doesn’t PK. Fewest goals scored among contenders. Can’t see reasons he is top five never mind top three.

@AndyBathgate27 Those three and Bouchard and Dahlin are top five this season. The two you didn't list are just as worthy.

@AshleySchaub He isn't close to top three this year. You can't grasp how award works. It is this year. Olympics means nothing. And much more than one stat. Worst GA of all the top D. Worst +/-. Fewest goals scored. Worst xGA of top D. But yes pretend it is one stat for this season.

@JasonGregor The point is your biased hate for Quinn Hughes. You have nothing to back up your argument but one worthless stat. He’s a top 3 d man in every way. Take the L. Oh and he already has a Norris to go with his gold medal.

and Hughes still was on for 56 GA in 48 games at 5x5. He has worst GA of any top D. In his 48 games in MIN, other D still outscored him. He is a good D-man, but nothing about his FULL season makes him a finalist. Nothing. Sorry. Look at Werenski, Bouchard, Makar, Dahlin, Hutson, Seider. All have better seasons.

@JasonGregor If you look at the very clear difference and team impact from before Huges to after for the wild (going from a bottom 5 team in D scoring to top 3, as well as goals per game increase as a team) there is a very real case to be made.
