You can't tell me Graham Burke doesn't offer something we don't have in the national team. I don't care what level the League of Ireland is seen as. We have nobody doing what he does at any level, with the consistency in that pocket. We need as many different options as possible.

@bazlastmanback Can ireland afford to have a player that just plays a free role basically ? When these players are in structures its a totally different scenario best player in the loi but not that level for me.

@jasper5002 @SeanmallonSRFC @IFBMedia Don’t be so naive. The LOI is at League 2 level of English football. Many of the league’s players aren’t even good enough for that level. You might get the odd one that can play League 1 or maybe some decent young players higher, depending on how they develop if they get a move.

I’m not saying we need a squad full of them, just think some of them get overlooked despite inadequate cover in certain positions.
