@fasterthanlime Great writeup, noticed you’re using opentelemetry 😅 Anything we should fix before releasing 1.0?

@Lokathor @jatescher I see - it basically doesn't allow the user to say "I got this" and roll with multiple versions if they want to.

Cargo feature I'd love to have: singleton crates. If you try to compile a project that has multiple versions of that crate in the dependency tree -> 🚨 error 🚨 This would prevent difficult-to-diagnose issues with crates that rely on TTL like tracing, tokio or opentelemetry.

This is the most crypto thing I've seen. Hacker steals $600M in an obscure exploit, suggests decentralized governance for stolen funds.

Scientists have also successfully built logic gates by using swarms of soldier crabs. It takes about 80 🦀 to operate a logic gate, and there are 8 logic gates in a byte, so 640,000 crabs can be used to store a single tweet. Which seems kind of horrifying. 🦀🦀🦀🦀🦀🦀🦀🦀

@jatescher @rustlang I have no issue with Any + downcast_ref, didn't know it was a possible choice here. Once you have the Any type though how do you check for u64?

Would appreciate some @rustlang advice - I want to make a type which takes a generic T, but if T == u64 we take one code path, if T != u64 we take another. Any suggestions? Happy to use macros/unsafe to achieve this.

For the new followers today, here’s a, “I just discovered crows are awesome,” starter pack: 1) Crows can live a long time (14-17y), and are generally territorial. That means the crows you interact with outside your home/work may be the same individuals for over a decade.

[Thread] In 1482, Da Vinci wrote out a letter and a list of his capabilities and sent it off to the Duke of Milan, hoping to get employment. "... I have methods for destroying every fortress (...) Also I can execute sculpture in marble, bronze and clay." See the next tweets.
