With less than a week remaining until the end of the holy month of Ramadan, we distributed Iftar food parcels to 550 needy households from across Kamukunji today at Eastleigh High School. The food packets included maize flour, wheat flour, rice, sugar, tea leaves, salt, cooking oil, and dates. We also delivered 250 kgs of dates to seven mosques in Majengo, Shauri Moyo, Kiambiu, Madiwa, and Airbase. This is a wonderful way to build community spirit and bring people together. Thank you to everyone who helped make it happen!

President William Ruto today toured the Quarry Road Gikomba Market in Kamukunji Constituency, accompanied by area MP Yusuf Hassan, to assess progress on the newly constructed market facility.

A Significant Milestone for the Youth of Kamukunji On Friday, we launched a quick-impact training programme designed to equip unemployed youth in Kamukunji with the essential skills, resources, and tools they need to succeed. A total of 1,649 young people have now begun a three- to six-month skills training programme across 16 different trades, including plumbing, electrical work, catering, hairdressing and beauty, driving, and many more. They will receive training at the YMCA National Training Institute in Shauri Moyo, the Kamukunji Vocational and Technical College in Airbase, and Rocky Driving School. Our aim is to drive real, tangible change: creating jobs, igniting entrepreneurship, and empowering these youth to make positive contributions to their community and the local economy. The Kamukunji Youth Empowerment Programme is rooted in a simple yet powerful idea—that our young people are our greatest asset, and they deserve the skills and opportunities to thrive.

CALLING ALL YOUTHS In KAMUKUNJI. We begin registration for refresher and crash courses aimed at empowering youth and addressing unemployment in the constituency on Monday, 15 December 2025, at 8:00 am, at the California Resource Centre on Timboroa Road. The exercise will continue until Tuesday, 16 December 2025. The initiative targets young people aged 35 and under residing in the five Kamukunji wards: Pumwani, Eastleigh North, Eastleigh South, Airbase, and California. The courses, certified by the National Industrial Training Authority (NITA), will equip participants with practical, hands-on technical and entrepreneurial skills over a period of 3 to 6 months. Those selected will begin their training in January 2026. Upon successful completion, participants will be awarded certification, providing formal recognition of their new skills. They will also receive start-up capital or toolkits to help them launch their own businesses, thereby enhancing their economic prospects.
