Even beyond the Ad-to-Viewer value, my post gave Facebook 23 WEEKS of view time. And they only gave $1.65 for all this. There is a longevity metric that is not being valued fairly.

Meanwhile, this is their rate to promote a post: In order to reach a guaranteed 1 million, like my post that gave $1.50, it would cost me roughly $16,500…

It never used to be this bad. They cut my rate by over 50x with no explanation. What is this about?

Personally, I think most of what society calls “adulthood” isn’t maturity — it’s a collective, cultural ego. It’s not a self that was discovered. It’s a self assembled through mirroring: family expectations, peer approval, cultural narratives, and public figures. 🧵

“Pull yourself up by your bootstraps.” A physical impossibility turned into moral advice. A myth designed to make structural immobility feel like personal failure.

“Make better choices.” Spoken inside constrained choice architectures. Responsibility is individualized to protect systemic design.

“Work your way up.” A promise of mobility inside a system built on bottlenecks. Most people aren’t failing they’re waiting in a structure that can’t lift them all.

The system doesn’t hide its logic, it repeats it daily. “Earn a living.” “Be realistic.” “Nobody owes you anything.” These aren’t opinions. They’re admissions, repeated until they stop sounding like confessions and start sounding like common sense. Language is the interface.

“Be realistic.” Meaning... accept the current power arrangement as fixed. “Realism” is imagination constrained by existing institutions.

“That’s above your pay grade.” Knowledge is stratified. Decision-making is gated. Authority flows upward, consequences flow down.

“You should’ve thought about that before.” Retroactive moralization of structural traps. The system creates volatility, then blames individuals for not predicting it.

“Rules are rules.” Obedience replacing coherence. When rules outlive their purpose, following them becomes the harm.

“We can’t afford to help everyone.” Translation... helping everyone isn’t profitable. The limit isn’t material. It’s institutional.
