Because I've now apparently been reported to the Met, @RSPCA_official, the @UK_CAA & @theroyalparks, I should clarify that I was NOT flying a drone and no wildlife was involved. It was just an @insta360 camera. I wasn't ready for the level of flag-related anger. #AprilFoolsDay

WHAT THE HELL — using a drone for today's early cycle ride, and it got taken out by a hawk or red kite in HYDE PARK FFS. Smashed to bits, £400 gone in a second 🤬🤬🤬

@mehdirhasan People who use add the suffix “phobe” to something are invariably trying to close down debate, to censor freedom of speech. They’ve lost an argument or fear engaging. “You’re something-phobic!” That’s not a rebuttal. It’s cowardly. @RichardDawkins

For years I had to put up with inane Dawkins cultish fans insisting to me that Dawkins wasn’t an Islamophobe because he hated all religions equally. Nope. He’s an Islamophobe. I was right.

"If I had to choose between Christianity and Islam, I'd choose Christianity every single time." Self-proclaimed 'cultural Christian', @RichardDawkins, tells @RachelSJohnson he's 'slightly horrified' to hear Ramadan lights were hung on Oxford Street rather than Easter lights.

@ClarkAboveAll @mehdirhasan They’re both bad but Dawkins is talking about tea and crumpets Anglicanism which is objectively benign in 2024. One can surely dislike the doctrine without disliking the adherents.

@GuffyNicola It’s just another way of getting pleasure from guilt. Not a healthy attitude to sex or anything really.

I think the ludicrous parallel being drawn here is between falling off a tight rope, - and accidentally ejaculating before you could withdraw and impregnating your wife.

@PacMaori @MitchBenn @o_guest Anyone who says having sex without contraception demonstrates the admirable self discipline and skills of a circus tight rope walker without safety equipment shouldn’t be saying anything about sex.

@GuffyNicola @jay_snowdon Or people need to stop living up to the jones and just spend time with family with a modest meal. Isn’t Christmas about faith (for some) and family. When did it become so much about indulgence and gifts.

These are crimes against humanity and war crimes for multiple reasons. Both because it's murdering civilians who pose no military threat of any kind. And because it's enabling a forced displacement of millions of people.
History Speaks@History__Speaks

According to @haaretzcom, the Israeli Army is saying 9,000 of the 32,000 killed in Gaza are terrorists. This is already noteworthy as the 9,000 is thousands lower than previous Israeli gov estimates. It gets worse: The Haaretz article indicates that, in classifying a dead Palestinian as a terrorist or civilian, "the question is not what he did but where he was killed." In other words, Israel appears to be practicing one of the major war crimes America engaged in during the Vietnam War: establishing 'free fire zones.' This tallies with other testimonial evidence and would explain all of the (bizarre) white flag shootings and other seemingly deliberate shootings of civilians. Thus, even the 9,000 terrorists figure is likely an exaggeration. The IDF is an utterly criminal enterprise, and its civilians to combatants ratio in this "war" is in all probability worse than that of the siege of Aleppo, which was 3:1.

@ClarkAboveAll True but they hired and fired (often literally) much more speedily than we did. They ended up with what they needed. Talking about our bad ones. Lloyd Fredendall was comically awful. 🫢

@ClarkAboveAll Yes the more I study it I think I agree. Not as bad as WW1 maybe but not much better. Which makes sense as they were the product of the same structures. By necessity and circumstances could we say the Soviet Union had overall better generals than western allies?

@jay_snowdon My hot take is I think the allies didn't have particularly good army generals in WWII. It was shear resources that won it
