@PrimaYanna That part. So many people have misdirected anger. If so many of us weren’t under layer upon layer of duress and stress and overwhelming social pressure - we could maybe see that we’re not each other’s common enemy. We’re mad at the wrong people.

@zoeeemarie it’s impossible for me to understand because I’ve been in restaurants too long to know how non service industry people think the world works. I’ve had multiple people explicitly say something abt my baby upstairs while the person/people they’re with look at them w/ bewilderment.

as a new mom, back to work in a restaurant, i have to take a pump break during service. I think it is courteous to explain to my tables that I’ll be gone for 20+ mins before I step away. THE AMOUNT OF PEOPLE WHO THINK MAY BABY IS SOMEWHERE IN THE RESTAURANT IS ASTOUNDING.

I just can not wrap my head around what they think the scenario is that would allow that. Do they think my baby is alone in the office or dry storage during service? That there is some sort of mini on site daycare? Help me understand this!!!

I usually give a brief, vague explanation depending on the table. Most people (majority women) will put the clues together and realize I’m going to pump without me having to say it. But there is a shocking number of people who ask me if my baby is in the building.
