Shock news: Saw a West End show in preview last night at which about eight (investors?) in front of me leaped to their feet at the curtain call… and the rest didn’t. Are we the end of the meaningless, cantilever curtain-down = everyone-stands Automatic Standing Ovation? Hope so.
