At this stage in the holidays, it's easy to lament 4 weeks down and only 2 to go (for many). However, change your perspective and see it as if it's the start of Easter with two whole weeks off school!!! What will you do with all that time? 😎

@DTS1109 @sewingbee I’m so sorry to hear that she has suffered like this. I have loved watching her sewing and learning along the way. She has inspired me to go out and buy some duvets to use as fabric! She has been a joy to watch. Wish her well for me

My sister, Suzy, is doing what she loves and trying to learn on national TV. Criticise her sewing all you want, that’s a choice! Some of the personal comments are needless, and so hurtful she switched off her socials weeks ago. Completely needless. #sewingbee @sewingbee

@MrBoothY6 Have you read Owen and the soldier? We have used it before, but I wouldn’t have thought it appropriate for year 3 personally

A similar year of class novels for us next year as this year in KS2 with a few tweaks. Really pleased with our offer again.

It was not to be this time in Huntingdon. But as I learnt throughout my life, things that are worth doing are a tough fight - this was my first general election and just the beginning 🌹 Most of all, I am happy to wake up to a Labour Government who I know will improve the lives of people like me and many others across the country. When I was selected as a candidate for Huntingdon in March, many people told me it's an "impossible" task to even come close. After all, it was John Major's seat, one that has never been Labour. Reducing the Conservative majority in Huntingdon from 19,383 in 2019 to 1,499 today, significantly above the national swing for Labour, is a result I am proud of. It is humbling to think that 16,758 people in Huntingdon constituency chose to put their "X" next to my name and I am grateful for every single conversation in this campaign - I learnt so much. Most of all, I am proud we have led a positive campaign and stuck to the principles of debate, not hate. Congratulations to @BenObeseJecty and commiserations to all the other candidates who put their name forward. I know from speaking to all candidates that we all put in a lot of work and standing for election is not the easiest thing one can do in their life! It shows the hard work of the campaign team, all done in volunteer time alongside my work and county duties. There are many people to thank, but I would like to mention in particular my agent @BobJewell12 (for putting up with all the midnight leaflet edits in particular!), @dlandoncole who has been there all the time helping me, @willthong for all the organising support, @Luke_Viner for supporting each other in our respective campaigns, and all our volunteers, seasoned campaigners and new faces, who helped me over the last 3 months. I am also happy to see some good friends elected - including @kevinbonavia in Stevenage, @andrewpakes_ in Peterborough and @sam_carling_ in North West Cambridgeshire. Politics is being part of a team and working together. I will need a few days to catch up with the hundreds of messages - and catch up on sleep. I am looking forward to continuing to work on Cambridgeshire County Council as Vice-Chair of Communities and in the non-profit sector - bring on the local elections next year!

@39_susie @SwailesRuth You think? I reckon he will be rubbbish - hardly ever turn up, be an awful constituency MP and do nothing if use. He seems to me to be all talk but not one to put in the hours.

@thosethatcan We were very impressed with the student support at York when we visited, e.g prepaid food cards to ensure students have the means to eat. It wasn’t right course-wise for my son, but has 2 lovely campuses. Some of the accommodation is now looking a bit tired.

Doing a double-whammy before a break to absorb! York, here we are for tomorrow's uni open day (these are great but oddly exhausting). Thoughts also very welcome. (It's very much her choice so trying not to let my delight at the beauty of this place influence her...)

@MissC_1717 I agree. Especially as I would probably spend all of it thinking about writing reports but not actually doing them. Like I did last week!

Maybe controversial, but I wouldn’t want 2 weeks off now. Summer is just around the corner and I like that it is loooooonnngggg. I don’t want it shaved for extra at May ✋🏻

@RishiSunak What a load of nonsense! Improve our children’s futures by properly funding the education system, bringing back support for parents like children’s centres, funding youth projects, not forcing them into the military. A sound-bite, badly thought -out plan, to appeal to the right

@Ria1984 I know of 2 local primary schools who have inspections this week, during year 6 SATs. So in the afternoons when usually the staff would be giving the children something a bit easier and extra play, they will feel pressure to put on all singing all dancing lessons.
