@jayfriedman Yes, it will. If you have to come back sooner than 10 years, the second colonoscopy will be considered diagnostic and you'll have to pay your plan's regular cost-sharing. If a polyp is found the doctor is almost certainly going to advise that you come back sooner than 10 years.

Colonoscopy billing is complicated. In this example, the colonoscopy was diagnostic so the patient had out-of-pocket costs. But if it's a preventive colonoscopy, they can't change it to diagnostic due to finding polyps, nor can the insured be billed for the polyp removal/biopsy.

@LouiseNorris Sadly, LifeWise decided to eliminate their HSA-eligible plan, which was the only attractive one of its type in WA.

Washington state health insurance Marketplace: PacificSource is exiting market, and avg premiums are increasing by 10.7% (on the higher end of what we're seeing nationally) But 3/4 of WA enrollees get subsidies, which grow to keep pace w/ benchmark rates healthinsurance.org/states/health-…

But there must be some amount of exceeding the limit for CSR eligibility the government frowns upon. My 2-person household won't qualify for CSRs in 2023, but this year interest income might unexpectedly bump us ~ $1000 too high.

The only thing that needs to be repaid if income is higher than projected when enrolling is the advance premium tax credit. There is no penalty specific to enrolling in a cost-sharing reduction plan. 🧵

Rising interest rates mean higher than expected investment income, and not yet sure about year-end distributions from mutual funds that could drive investment income even higher.
