@tenobrus @thesophiaxu @thdxr I've noticed 4.6 likes to write bash commands piped to HEREDOC python scripts to transform the output, seems Anthropic is training it prefer a codemode style anyway this would just invert the order and I think that's way more sensible

@thesophiaxu @thdxr i fully fully believe it can, but turns isn't the only relevant metric, if it's more tokens or requires more thinking those are real costs, if it deviates from copy-pastable patterns or documentation those are real costs. and i think the benefits are very unclear!

.@SH20RAJ, we could really use the `tanstack` npm package name. We've proactively reached out via email many times in the past with no response but are now getting complaints from unsuspecting users and agents mistaking it for the official TanStack CLI. Please respond 😊

@nikitabier can you plz make bookmarks sorted by `bookmarked_at` instead of `posted_at` (similar to likes) and maybe also improve bookmark search to be semantic? i struggle to find stuff i bookmarked recently esp if i can't remember the exact verbiage in the post

@bluewmist “taking it easy” on them only keeps them in this loop. don’t harass them sure, but they need *some* feedback to break the cycle, no?

someone who has been mentally and emotionally abused will: - constantly apologize - need a lot of reassurance - break down over small disagreements - hide their feelings in order to not upset you - have low self esteem because of insults please take it easy on them

@wackie What do you get from Ralph that Cursor Plan doesn't do out of the box? I've yet to have plan mode not be able to one shot large plans w/o my input am i just not being ambitious enough with my prompts?

cursor would be so much more powerful if plan mode output ralph wiggum style requirements by default and “build” would ralph wiggum until satisfied. that’s basically what i end up doing and have the most success with, but with more human input. if cursor had more public apis i could build an extension to do this…

alright i'm tired of this shit i'm gonna post every one of these i get like i said, ai space has way more "paying people to shill something" than anything i've seen before of course it's all phrased in a way that's deniable but let's not kid ourselves

I consider myself a staunch leftist. If you are a right winger of any sort, I do not invite you to participate in my work. I have no choice what is done with it after I give it to the world. But if you choose to engage anyway, you are trespassing. You are not welcome here.

@thdxr do you rely on any docs/rules to guide it when working on specific domains or are you saying it’s good enough at slurping up the relevant code if you’ve architected it well

claude code performs best on the terminal codebase - we've one shotted several significant features code base follows a light DDD pattern and separation of concerns that vibe coders would never arrive at

if you actually push LLMs to the max you discover counterintuitive things like them performing better on cleaner codebases with consistent patterns i'm way more motivated to fix tech debt that humans can tolerate but AI can't "code doesn't matter" bros aren't doing anything

@Austen actually think the new term we need is for the person who continues to hand-code everything. leaning on AI is just gonna become the "regular" type of coder..

We need new words to differentiate between someone who knows nothing about code trying to blindly one-shot everything and someone who understands engineering using AI to move quickly. Right now everyone is calling both "vibecoding" and they couldn't be more different.
