This woman spotted a cute little jewelry box at the thrift store — it was glued completely shut and she could tell there was something inside. She brought it home, grabbed some tools, and carefully pried it open (she didn’t want to break the pretty dish). Inside she finds a small plastic bag… filled with what she soon realizes are human ashes. She went from excited treasure-hunter to “I’m literally about to start crying” in seconds. You can hear her processing it all in real time — “Is that a bag of dirt?” … “I think that’s somebody’s ashes.” Now she’s left holding this adorable little box and a very unexpected bag of cremains, wondering: keep the dish? Put the ashes back? Return it to the thrift store? Spread them somewhere? It’s one of the wildest “you never know what you’ll find” thrift stories I’ve ever seen. What would you do if you opened up a thrift store find and discovered this?
