To everyone claiming this photo was taken in India — it wasn’t. The girl already clarified it was in Canada. Here’s her full statement translated:
"This is a graduation photo from last year. My friend took it for me during our ceremony and I thought it looked good, so I posted it on Xiaohongshu (RED) without thinking much.
I didn’t expect it to go viral again recently after almost a year, and people are now claiming I’m Korean.
So let me clarify: I’m Chinese. I was born and raised in China.
I don’t wear makeup, I didn’t dye my hair with any intentional color (this blondish tone is the result of fading from a dye job I did last year), and I didn’t undergo any cosmetic surgery. I just grew my hair out and styled it a bit. I’ve always had relatively pale skin, which I inherited from my mom. I’ve looked this way since I was a kid.
This is just a random graduation photo my friend snapped for me at the ceremony. I didn’t expect it to go viral, especially not with misinformation attached. People started making assumptions based on one glance.
Lately, there’s been a lot of discussion about appearances and identity. I hope this clears things up. Please stop spreading false information.
