@CherryIlls In the U.S. you do need permission even if you aren't making a profit. But if you don't make a profit, you don't get sued. There is nothing to take.

People not in the music industry might not know this, but venues steal your money when you sell merch at your shows. You bring the merch, you bring the fans, you bring the merch seller…venue takes 10 to 20 percent of your gross. You can’t sell unless you comply. It’s so fucked.
