Spent this morning on a subtle bug in Money Me's available balance. Savings marked as locked away should reduce what you can spend, accessible savings should not. One toggle, three test files. The boring finance logic is where all the trust lives. #buildinpublic

@DhruvBhatt47863 Eager loading fixes are some of the most satisfying ones. Hit the same thing on a finance app - one dashboard view quietly fired dozens of queries for recurring expenses until I batched them. Logging query counts in dev caught it.

57- Continuing with my project: Spent some time resolving circular dependencies and improving database access patterns. I also introduced eager loading for model relationships to avoid the N+1 query problem and make data retrieval more efficient. #100DaysOfCode #BuildInPublic

@vps20571 A personal finance app called Money Me. The angle is forward looking - it works out what you can actually spend today after upcoming bills and savings commitments, instead of just reporting what you spent last month. Web is live, Android is in closed testing. What about you?

@IvanDataanalyst The silent days got easier for me when I started keeping a one line changelog even for invisible work. "Refactored balance calc, no visible change" still counts. Some weeks that log is the only proof anything happened, but it beats fake-busy.

No commits, no demo calls, no client pings today. Three options: ship something tiny, write a useful post, or fake-busy. Picked option 4: admit it. Hardest part of solo building isn't the silent days. It's pretending they're loud. #buildinpublic #indiehacker #solofounder

Closed testing on Google Play is a strange phase. Money Me's web version has paying users, the Android build is done, and now it waits for testers to keep it installed 14 days before Google opens the gate. Android user? Come poke at it: groups.google.com/g/money-me-bet… #buildinpublic

@IvanDataanalyst The silent days do something useful though. Every loud day creates a backlog of small decisions made too fast. I use the quiet ones to fix one of those. And option 4 is underrated - the honest admission usually ends up being the most read post of the week anyway.

@JasonMBrownPF @TanzilaSha9574 Good to see another bet on manual entry. I build Money Me, same call - no bank linking. People who choose manual aren't doing it grudgingly, the typing is the point. Entering a bill makes you look at it. How are you handling recurring bills in Aurum? Messiest part for me.

@ScottyBeamIO The dashboard was never the hard part. I build a finance app - the display took a week. The years went into the logic: what counts against spendable balance, how bills roll over, income landing late. A Notion page shows numbers. It won't catch your insurance renewing in March.

CLAUDE JUST CONNECTED TO NOTION AND BUILT A FULL PERSONAL FINANCE DASHBOARD IN ONE PROMPT. PERSONAL FINANCE APPS ARE COOKED. One prompt. 30 seconds of setup. A complete CFO-level finance tracking system built directly inside your Notion. Here's the entire setup: –> Go to Claude –> Open Connectors and install the Notion connector –> Paste one prompt into a new chat –> Claude builds the entire system inside your Notion database automatically No manual spreadsheet. No $15/month finance app. No complicated setup. Just Claude, Notion, and one prompt. You Have Mint. You have YNAB. You have every budgeting app that charges monthly and still requires you to do most of the work manually. Or you connect Claude to Notion for free and let it build exactly what you need in 30 seconds. Bookmark this post. Full breakdown is in the video below.

Todoist dropped per-project Google Calendar sync and their docs say no plans to bring it back. That gap is why I built todoist-sync.com - pick which projects sync to which calendar, both directions, drag to reschedule. One app's dropped feature became my product.

@jk_helloworld Hi Jay. Building two things solo - Money Me, a finance app that shows what's coming rather than what you spent, and Todoist Sync for per-project calendar sync. Currently grinding through Google Play's closed testing gate. What are you building?

@aayush_cs26 Solid pace. One thing worth doing early with Google OAuth - get the consent screen verification sorted well before launch. It takes longer than you'd expect and it's the kind of thing that blocks a release while everything else is ready. Learned that the slow way on my own app.

@heyakash_design Congrats on shipping. How are you handling the moment someone tries to open a blocked site - hard wall or a friction screen? The blockers that last on my phone are the ones that make unblocking slightly annoying but not impossible. Curious where you landed.

Solo devs: how do you decide what to build next when you have 5 users and all 5 want something different? Loudest voice? Easiest build? The thing you'd use yourself? Torn on this exact question this week. #buildinpublic

@yunus_emreg Congrats on shipping cross-platform. How are you handling the Android release when it comes - straight to Play production or through their closed testing requirement first? Going through that gate with my own app right now and curious how other solo devs are planning around it.

@project_oren The one-line fixes are the best ones. I spent three days last month on a balance calculation bug in my finance app that came down to a single timezone comparison. The hour of staring counts as work even when the diff is tiny. Keep going.

Woke up today feeling stuck. Spent an hour just rewriting one line of code. It clicked. That tiny win? It completely changed my energy. Sometimes, progress isn't a giant leap, it's just finding the right word or solving one small bug. Keep shipping! #buildinpublic #indiehacker

@SashaSammy15 Money Me - money-me.com. Finance app built around one number: what you can actually spend without breaking the rest of the month. Bank balance minus upcoming bills and savings commitments, plus expected income. Web live, Android in Play closed testing. Rate away.

The budgeting habit that finally stuck for me: stop reviewing what you spent. List what still has to come out before payday instead - bills, subscriptions, the savings transfer. What's left is your real number. Five minutes, and your bank balance stops lying to you.

@AnthonyCasauria This is why I ended up writing browser tests that click through the app like a user would. Unit tests kept passing while the actual page was broken. Painful to maintain but they catch exactly the class of bug you described, the kind you only see by looking.

5 MyLinks bugs this week, every one only showed up because I looked at the live page. build green, deploy green, still broken. how much of 'it works' is just 'i didn't actually look' → mylinks.page #buildinpublic #indiehacker

@zaahid_ensari Not being able to pay the $25 bill is a better starting point than most funded products get. Constraints like that usually become the actual pitch. Curious how it works for a non-technical seller though - do they need their own Cloudflare account or do you handle that part?

Started an ecommerce store. It failed. Couldn't even pay Shopify's $25 bill. So I built ShopFlare. A $0 infra cost store on Next.js + Cloudflare. For small businesses who just want to sell without platform fees. Open source. Work in progress. #BuildInPublic #OpenSource

@Simonij_dk @DataFast_ 40 in a week from X is a real signal this early. Search takes months to send anyone, X sends a trickle from day one. The hidden value is that some of those 40 will reply and tell you what confused them on the landing page, which Google traffic never does.
