I really liked TFS, tbh. It was a lot of fun. EoF was pure fucking trash. Renegades was a decent bounce back, the content just got stale way too quick and not enough new content to be engaging. I kind of wish Bungie would have hung it up after TFS. That would have been a good note to end on. I believe what really killed the game was their hubris. They hinged their success on Marathon and thought that D2 fans would flock to it. The game looks like ass. Plus all the controversy surrounding it left a bad taste in a lot of mouths. They shot themselves in the foot. Honestly, they've been doing it for years. Vaulting content, fomo seasons, meaningful loot acquisition, perpetual pvp problems, shitty new player experience, nerfing fun weapons because a streamer said it made the game too easy, Eververse... The list goes on.

@jaynarchy Yeah I think Bungie is a lost cause tbh. I stopped playing before TFS and came back and tried it and just couldn’t get into it anymore. Probably would have stayed around if the clan hadn’t dissolved with hard feelings.

For nearly 10 years this was basically the only game I played. For a long time it was truly magical. But then they focused on their ideologies more than they did the gameplay. They decided they no longer wanted to over deliver and surprise their fans. They decided to put more resources into micro transactions than gameplay. They decided we were only cows for the milking, and they milked us dry. Slowly at first and then in droves, people got fed up with either the woke bullshit or how the players that kept this company alive were discarded in favor of things they didn’t want. We begged for dedicated servers and they gave that to marathon, which has yet to peak 100k concurrent players. We asked for in game earnable cosmetics and they sent those to the eververse. That wasn’t enough for us to leave. Some of us asked them to simply not display their hatred for half the population and they endorsed abortion tourism and “black trans jellyfish at Bungie” clubs that ate up resources. But that wasn’t enough for us to leave. We asked for balancing in the crucible and new maps and were ignored for years at a time. Asked for cheater protection and detection and they laid those guys off. Still somehow a player base remained loyal. But then, for all their leftist bluster, they started laying off good employees right after Sonys giant cash infusion. Meanwhile Pete bragged about his car collection while his former employees scrambled to find new jobs. Meanwhile Victim Group at Bungie continued on. Wasting money and resources that could have saved the game and kept people employed. For me, that was the final straw. I decided that when they refused to even honor their own values, I won’t give them my money. I found the disconnect a little difficult at first because that was my hobby. Not gaming necessarily. Destiny was my hobby and I made some good friends playing it. After a while it got easier though. And now I don’t miss it in the least. RIP Destiny, you died so Marathon could live in a vegetative state.
