This show became something no one saw coming in its run. And I'm not shy about saying that popularity on the Internet nowadays is a prickly thing.
Nowadays, you REALLY have to pick and choose who's opinions you really care about.

That's my biggest issue with the show. The show as-is doesn't really click with me, but I also acknowledge that for it to address these criticisms, it wouldn't be the same show, and that's simply not fair to demand.

i don't think gameoverse (or indie animation in general) is above criticism, but my issue is that a good chunk of the criticism is "this should be a completely different show" which isn't particularly helpful or constructive.

That's my thing to. I'm not entirely sold on its premise, mainly because it gives "Link is the real villain in Link's Awakening" vibes, but I see the passion and the talent, so I want to see where it goes, but it's not clicking with me narratively.

I would give my thoughts on that Gameoverse but IDC about that also so I just find a little more harder to criticize a pilot compared to a full series cuz all of my critiques can just be boiled down too “they’re not gonna reveal everything in the first episode, you have to wait”
