Today, Mayor Lucas, Councilman @JDuncanKC, and Mayor Pro Tem @Ryana4KC introduced an ordinance creating REACH, a pre-arrest diversion program to help treat those experiencing a crisis relating to substance abuse, mental health, or homelessness, instead of arrest.

In partnership with @UnitedWayGKC, we’ve launched #KCStrong, an emergency response fund supporting victims and their families, violence prevention and mental health services, and first responders. The Chiefs, Hunt Family Foundation and NFL are supporting this cause with a $200,000 donation to ensure that we are helping to support the victims and first responders in the immediate aftermath of Wednesday’s tragedy.
