@jb2brady No I just don't see violence as public health problem Spend all money and resources to help victims of crime ( including their families) only. Anyone that "CHOOSES" to lay hands on an innocent person doesn't get a cent of public help There is no downside to executing them .

@HowUwanaGaryit Make no mistake I’ve seen tough on crime tactics like an overemphasis on cops play out in a much worse city by every metric (St. Louis). I’ve lost ppl to gun violence, drugs, and prison. Even in 2020 McDuffie admitted we can’t over-police our way out of every problem.

@jb2brady I am in complete alignment with the holistic approach. I think we should address root causes, as well as invest in police and hold criminals accountable. Because "it takes time" is cool, when you're not living in the war zone.

@HowUwanaGaryit These issues won’t go away even if McDuffie was magically able to find 1,000 more ppl to join MPD (Bowser couldn’t). Crime requires a holistic public health approach (see Baltimore) and it takes a long time to undo the driving factors (largely centered on economic inequality).

@HowUwanaGaryit I’d then say there are almost no evidence that these curfews (which have been in place for over a year) have actually had any positive impact. Also, you seem to think there’s a correlation between hiring more cops and a decrease in crime (data doesn’t back that up)
