For over 30 years, the wonderful Vivian Silver chose to dedicate her life to peace in the middle east. Week after week, she volunteered to transport patients from the Gaza Strip to hospitals in Israel, she initiated work training programs for Palestinians, enabling them to provide for their families with dignity, and she founded various organizations working towards the resolution of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. When Hamas terrorists broke into her home on October 7th, she managed to text her friends that she was hiding behind the closet door. Last night, after more than a month, her body was finally identified. She was murdered. Throughout her life, 74-year-old Vivian had extended her hand for peace with Palestinians. In quiet moments, do you wonder a little why your social media friends are so frantically posting and spreading misinformation about just one conflict thousands of miles away? Does it seem strange to you that they are so fixated on this one comparatively tiny conflict when they seemingly have zero interest in all the others raging around the world right now? (600,000 civilians inc children killed in the last year in Sudan, 375,000 blasted to smithereens in Yemen by one of the best funded militaries in the world, countless dead in Ethiopia-Tigray, Azerbaijan-Armenia, China’s hard-oppressed Uighur Muslims, the poor Kurds endlessly smashed up by Turkey, East Timor, the list goes on.) Presumably the keyboard warriors and the marchers among your friends know that Israel, in the wake of one of the most horrific terrorist atrocities the world has ever seen, has no option but to do something, anything, to prevent it from happening again, and again, even though Israelis want nothing more than to live in peace with their neighbours? ‘Ceasefire now!’ they demand; ‘Peace!’ How do you do peace with an enemy which will settle for nothing less than your total annihilation? The answer to your wondering is this: An ancient, inexplicable, hateful obsession with Jews, with their religion, their race, and now with their one tiny country. As Douglas Murray recently said, “sometimes a flare goes up and you get to see where everybody is”. Well look around you now at the assorted antisemites, Lord Haw Haws and useful idiots demanding that Israel, our friend and ally, a beacon of democracy and freedom sitting there right between Syria, Iran, Hamas, Hezbollah, does nothing to defend itself, or rather ceases to exist, as they sing their jaunty genocidal little chant “from the river to the sea”, and remember who they are and where they stand, and why the Jewish people so badly need their own safe haven in a world that periodically flares up with hatred for them.

JC is not friends with Hamas and I can prove it. Imagine, you have a friend and they raped a young woman and filmed it, posted the clip on social media, boasting of it - then this friend mutilated her body; this friend, they tortured little children in front of their parents before setting fire and burning them to death, they murdered old people and posted it on FB This friend of yours, they kidnapped people, took them as hostages and threatened to murder them and more and more… If your friend did such a thing, a normal human, anyone with even a bit of a heart, would be so devastated, outraged and disappointed- they would demand their ‘friend’ return the kidnapped hostages, they would express their disgust outrage and shame, they would beg them to cease these behaviors, turn themself in, and attempt some kind of confession, to face what they had done- and they would say, as a friend I cannot be in contact with you until you change. Jeremy Corbyn is not a mere friend of Hamas, he is their accomplice.

Here is a little story about infection control. My friend, *Dr Bob, is an anesthetist working in a UK hospital. Last week, he had a patient - *Ralph - an elderly man who had come in for a minor scheduled operation.

Many years ago, when I was still a Member of Knesset on behalf of the Labor Party I was sent on a mission to the European Parliament to meet with our “fellow” socialist members (that’s when I still naively thought that the socialist left was the ally of Israeli Labor…). After leaving one meeting with a senior member from Germany who spent the entire meeting lamenting Israeli evil, I turned to the Israeli EU Embassy staff member and said: “I get it, it’s clear, they still can’t handle what they did to the Jewish people, and so they need to find a way to cleanse their sins by retroactively projecting onto Israel all of their sins. So let’s just be done with it, we’ll tell them we forgive them in return of them just leaving us alone.” The wise staff person responded, “but you know what will happen: they’ll pocket our forgiveness and keep projecting their sins on us. They need this too much to let go”. And this is the context for the the complete submission of so many on the left in media and politics to the Hamas lie that it was Israeli attacks (no, it was another Gaza terrorist group - Islamic Jihad) that destroyed a hospital (it didn’t, not even close, it was the parking lot) and led to hundreds of innocent dead (the figure is not grounded in anything). For eleven days now, pillars of the global left from the “Squad” to Corbyn to many in the media had to deal with the collapse of their entire theology, which placed unique Israeli/Zionist/Evil at the core of their worldview. Without this one certainty of their political lives they do not know how to be in this world. It is the one idea that gives sense and order to who they are. But the glee with which Hamas terrorists and “ordinary Palestinians” (remember Daniel Goldhagen’s “Ordinary Germans” also known as “Hitler’s Willing Executioners”?) proceeded to engage in the greatest possible atrocities against families and people of all ages from babies to grandparents, was to them first and foremost a massacre of their entire theology. They did not know who they were anymore without “Evil Israel”. They especially could not handle the terrifying possibility that evil lies on the Palestinian side - the people whom they have elevated to Jesus like sacrificial and saintly status. And so the lie handed to them by Hamas that included all the elements they needed - Israeli evil, innocent Palestinian victims - allowed them to restore their theology. All was right with the world again. Israel/Zionism/Jews were thereby restored to their proper place in their theology as the epitomes of unique evil. This is the reason why the intense energy released was not simple of tribal loyalty, or “anti-Israel bias”. Rather, it was the collective relief of people whose entire worldview was endangered for eleven long days, and which they - thanks to the failure of Islamic Jihad and the lies of Hamas - could finally restore.

Eyal Waldman is a successful Israeli businessman. He built R&D centers in the West Bank & Gaza to employ Palestinian developers. He hopped it would improve their economic condition and build bridges between Israelis and Palestinians. Last weekend, Hamas murdered his daughter Danielle and her boyfriend, Noam, at the music festival in southern Israel. Eyal says of the young couple, "Danielle and Noam loved dancing, and I hope they continue dancing somewhere up there."

Hamas slaughtered every person - Jewish and Muslim, young and old. This is Awad Darawshe, a Muslim paramedic who raced to the site of the music festival massacre to treat the wounded. He too was murdered by Hamas. His ambulance was stolen and driven into Gaza. May Awad’s memory be a blessing.

In Israel, during a Hamas attack on the city of Ofakim, Kharkiv theoretical physicist Sergei Gredeskul and his wife were killed. The couple was killed by terrorists who broke into their home. According to the media outlet, the information about the murder was confirmed by the Institute for Low Temperature Physics and Engineering (ILTPE). Gredeskul is a laureate of the State Prize of Ukraine and co-author of the famous book Introduction to the Theory of Disordered Systems. This is Shiri with her two kids: Kfir, 9 months old, and Ariel, 3 years old. They were brutally kidnapped yesterday from their home in Kibbutz Nir- Oz. Her husband Yarden, together with her two parents Yossi and Margit, were apparently kidnapped and brought to Gaza. Margit is sick and needs her medication.
