Three weeks ago I had open heart surgery to replace my aortic valve and repair my aortic root. My “incompetent” bicuspid valve was discovered when I was 11 years old and for the last 47 years I have been looked after by the cardiac team at Southampton General Hospital. 🧵

Annik would've likely competed elsewhere this weekend given proper notice. That's wholly unacceptable. See attached.

@PW26228 @sebcoe @marca hi paul … I work for @WorldAthletics and wanted to let you know that we are just testing the take off zone in a couple of competitions to see if it technically works and gather feedback from athletes, coaches, broadcasters and fans. Not introduced.

@sebcoe @marca What do you make of international athletes pulling out of jump competitions because of the "take off zone" being introduced at short notice, Seb? Or is that sort of thing just not on your own radar any more? Is that good for the sport?
