@ComposeherUK @GSAChoir @ausgirlschoir -- perhaps of interest? Jane Stanley, an Australian based in Glasgow, is one of the 7 composers and a great model for Australian girls who may want to compose as well as sing choral music.

@annarosebeer Anna, that's so kind of you to say. That you felt this is perhaps the best possible measure of success -- that the work communicated so clearly this intensity of being alive (and of coming into being). I'm deeply grateful to Jane for transforming the poem so beautifully.

Thinking of Dr Anna Beer's remark before the concert that community is critical for female composers. @ComposeherUK connected @composerjane and myself as poet/lyricist. This community of minds across the arts of words and music feels like a powerful space for women to explore.

@composerjane's setting of my poem "14 Weeks" for @ComposeherUK was deeply moving to hear and a triumph of originality. It doesn't merely refer to the maternal experience of a growing foetus: it immerses you in it. I know I wasn't alone in feeling stunned by what I'd heard.

@ComposeherUK was utterly spellbinding and 💯 worth coming across the world for. A ravishing set of 7 powerful and distinctive works by living female composers including the extraordinary "14 Weeks" by @composerjane. Jamie Sainsbury and @GSAChoir you're absolutely brilliant.
