We as a basketball community need to start normalizing, teaching & encouraging the following.. • One handed passes & throwing passes with both hands • “Wrong” footed lay ups • Behind the back passes • Dipping the ball on your jump shot • A slight turn with your feet on your jump shot (not 10 toes to the rim) • MORE two foot finishing options - everything can’t be a “go up strong” moment • Working on “game speed” but knowing that game speed means FAST & SLOW - Not 100000 MPH all the time • Teaching terminology & actions to players at a young age • Being real, honest and genuine with players

THE BIBLE VERSE PROTESTANTS WISH WASN’T THERE: JOHN 20:23🇻🇦 When it comes to Catholic and Protestant debates, one of the most overlooked and often uncomfortable Bible verses is John 20:23. Here, Jesus speaks directly to His Apostles after His Resurrection: “If you forgive the sins of any, they are forgiven them; if you retain the sins of any, they are retained.” For Catholics, this verse is crystal clear: Jesus gave His Apostles the authority to forgive sins in His name, what we now recognize as the Sacrament of Confession. For many Protestants, however, the implications are troubling, because it contradicts the idea that confession should be “only between me and God.” So, what does this verse really mean? 1. The Context of John 20:23 This passage takes place right after the Resurrection. Jesus appears to His frightened disciples, breathes the Holy Spirit upon them, and commissions them: “Peace be with you. As the Father has sent me, even so I send you.” (John 20:21) Then He gives them the power to forgive or retain sins. This is not symbolic language. The Apostles are being entrusted with a divine mission. If forgiveness were meant to be only private, there would be no reason for Christ to give them such authority. 2. The Catholic Understanding: Confession The Catholic Church sees John 20:23 as the foundation of the Sacrament of Penance (Confession). In this sacrament: The priest acts in the person of Christ (in persona Christi). Sins are confessed out loud, just as Scripture shows God’s people doing throughout salvation history (see Nehemiah 9:2–3, James 5:16). The priest, empowered by Christ, grants absolution, continuing the mission given to the Apostles. It’s not the priest himself who forgives, but Christ working through him. 3. Why Protestants Struggle with This Verse Many Protestants reject Confession to a priest, insisting that forgiveness can only come directly from God in private prayer. While it’s true that God forgives sins, John 20:23 explicitly shows Jesus giving men the authority to declare that forgiveness. If taken at face value, the verse undermines the “me and Jesus alone” approach to sin. That’s why some Protestant commentaries downplay it as symbolic or limit it to preaching the Gospel, rather than real absolution. But the plain reading of the text suggests something much deeper, an authority entrusted to the Church. 4. The Early Church Believed in Confession Far from being a later Catholic invention, confession was practiced from the earliest centuries. The Didache (1st century) urged believers to confess sins before prayer. Church Fathers like St. Cyprian (3rd century) spoke of bishops and priests reconciling sinners to God. Public confession and absolution were common before private confession developed as a merciful discipline. The authority to forgive sins was always understood as a gift Christ gave to His Church. 5. Why This Verse Matters Today John 20:23 is a verse that Protestants may wish wasn’t there because it challenges one of their foundational assumptions that priests are unnecessary. But for Catholics, it is a verse of hope and mercy. It means Jesus didn’t leave us guessing about forgiveness; He gave us a concrete way to hear the words: “I absolve you from your sins.” 6. Conclusion So, what do we make of John 20:23? For Catholics, it’s not just a verse, it’s a lifeline. It means that when we fall, Christ provided a visible, sacramental way for us to be reconciled with God through His Church. For Protestants, it remains a difficult verse, because its plain meaning supports Catholic teaching. But Scripture speaks for itself: Christ gave His Apostles and their successors the authority to forgive sins. ✅ Final Thought: John 20:23 is not a verse to be ignored but embraced. It reveals the heart of God’s mercy: that forgiveness is real, tangible, and given to us through His Church.

Everybody stop and watch this. Arnold Schwarzenegger, a legal immigrant, successful actor, and former California Governor, just left The View STUNNED. They attempted to get him to condemn ICE raids and what did he do? He credited America for his success, promoted legal immigration, and called out violent criminal aliens. Absolute masterclass: “I'm so proud and happy that I was embraced by the American people like that. Imagine I came over here with absolutely nothing, and then to create a career like that. In no other country in the world could you do that. Every single thing is because of America.” “The key thing is that we got to do things legal. Those people that are doing illegal things in America, and they're the foreigners, they are not smart. When you come to America, you're a guest and you have to behave like a guest.” “You have a responsibility as an immigrant to give back to America and to pay back to America and to go and do something for your community.”
