@HeidiBriones If you do a fake ID, that does not say drivers license, then put the age to 65. That way it becomes a lifetime ID that does not need to be renewed

Everyone's mad about Real ID, and I'm thinking about getting a fake ID that says I'm 55, so I can get a senior discount at IHOP. We are not the same.

@cgallaty @HeidiBriones The short answer is no. The long answer would depend on what you want to do with your ID/drivers license. The enhanced ID/drivers license allows you to drive to Canada and Mexico and sail to the Caribbean. The real ID/drivers license allows you to fly domesticly in the US

I guess that's the crux of the question. Do we need different IDs so we can be different people? We tie identity to everything. The lack of anything solid means that bad replacements race to fill the void. Just holding my phone right now seems to be enough proof to a number of entities that I'm me. (2FA is a fun rabbit hole) We already have the notion of passports. I've never understood how just having a stock, common ID is a bad thing.

@DecodingFoxNews There are other options for what can be used for identification papers if you do not want to use your birth certificate and divorce papers

For divorced women who changed their name this is an arduous process. I have to show a birth certificate, marriage certificate and my divorce papers to get a Real ID. I will probably just get my passport renewed as that’s easier.

@icunurseMercado @DecodingFoxNews If you're changing your address, you just need to bring two forms with you for proof of new residency. A bank statement and a utility bill with your name and new address on it will work

@DecodingFoxNews The other issue I read is this process has to be repeated every time you change your address. You have to bring your documents in person, not just a change of address card or online.
